The vote was 5-to-4, with Chief Justice John Roberts casting the decisive fifth vote that sought to bridge the liberal and conservative wings of the court.
Huh?

This is typical Roberts. He disguises his activism in narrow rulings and decisions that focus on procedure, but he’s as bad as any other establishment-supported judge. Just like the census decision, this is a loss, but it will be defended by the CINOs and RINOs.
To: an amused spectator
If Janet Napolitano did it as head of DHS it is rulemaking governed by the APA. That she violated the APA could have been challenged but it wasn’t.

No such thing for a man. Any crossed swords, and he’s a homo for life. And there ain’t nothing anyone can do about it. That’s just how it is.

All Trump had to do was give a reason to end the program. You cant end a program without a reason, according to the law. It's a memo issued by Janet Napolitano, impimp.
Not a law, or even an executive order.
Roberts pulled his "It's A Tax!" trick again.

“appears to be a procedural one that requires the Trump administration to follow normal protocols in rescinding executive orders “
The only procedure to overturn an executive order is to issue a new updating executive order.

That’s what I don’t get. Robert is treating this memo as if it were a law. It’s not.
What in the world is going on up there?

It is not just Roberts who struck again but his nominator, GWB.

All Trump had to do was give a reason to end the program. So this is Trump's fault?
To: Stravinsky
Although all nine members of the court agreed that the executive branch has the authority to rescind the program, Justice Clarence Thomas, joined by Justices Samuel Alito Jr. and Neil Gorsuch, dissented in part, writing, Todays decision must be recognized for what it is: an effort to avoid a politically controversial but legally correct decision.

yes, so many in the middle class are so uninformed that they allowed the destruction of our freedom.

Something like, why do all Republican appointees to the SCOTUS flip? Its almost inevitable... Invitations to DC cocktail parties (and their associated cliques) are a very powerful perk...
To: SMARTY
Glad I decided to weather the plague on the island. I’m going to the beach. Note to Trump...start picking your judges from state supreme court lineups. You may get better results with a jurist from Texas, Florida, etc.
