“.. the French and Indian War, the first true world war that would drag on for seven years, draw blood on five continents and have costs that would directly lead to a colonial uprising. ...”

“the first true world war”.... interesting turn of a phrase, and in retrospect, very accurate.

There’s a great book on the Seven Years war - “A Few Acres of Snow”, by Robert Leckie (WWII Marine, author of Helmet for my Pillow, and other historical works) - should be required history reading in schools.

Why publish an article like this. It is just asking for vandalism.

After months of closure due to the coronavirus pandemic, Jumonville Glen, a picturesque and primitive ravine that is part of the Fort Necessity National Park, is finally fully open.

I've been there. It's amazing that a firefight in this heavily wooded canyon off of Route 40 would touch off a global war.

I learned about Jumonville just last week. My husband pointed me to some reading which was really eye opening.
