‘The Simpsons’ Will ‘No Longer Have White Actors Voice Non-White Characters

“The Simpsons” won’t have any repeats of Hank Azaria voicing Apu.

The producers behind the show issued a statement Friday saying that from now on, its characters of color will be voiced by actors of color only.

“Moving forward, ‘The Simpsons’ will no longer have white actors voice non-white characters,” the statement read.

News of the decision comes less than an hour after Mike Henry announced he will no longer voice the character of Cleveland Brown on fellow Fox animated comedy “Family Guy.”

i predict this will not be enough at all

i predict that they will stop selling all prior versions of the shows

i predict they will re-release them only when non-white voice actors are brought in to replace the existing thirty+ years of voices to the minority characters

so these original copies will be worth a lot, down the road

Once they did The Simpsons Movie (which was great) it pretty much tanked.

I grew up on Looney Tunes, Merry Melodies, and Tex Avery cartoons, and they actually made me into a better person because they would showcase a forgotten novel or piece of Americana.

And I still enjoy cartoons as a 47-year old male.
