One might ask...if the House gets all the ducks lined up and passes this (likely by late August would be my guess), then it’d go to the Senate.
Does anyone think that that 100 Senators would meet up in the hall, with Covid-19 going on, in the midst of September, and do another two week impeachment? Some of these old guys/gals will hyperventilate with the masks on, and pass out on the floor.
Selling this to the public? I just don’t see how you gain anything for the election, and you might end up with a dozen older Senators with Covid-19.

LOL, that would be fun. Also remember 1/3 of these senators are up for re-election. They will not like not being able to campaign.

The “sell” is that only racists would oppose DC statehood and this is another step to end systemic racism. Is it true? Of course not, but inflaming passions of certain voting blocks is necessary in order to get them to show up at the polls.
