Larry Diamond of Stanford University, who co-authored the Democracy Fund analysis, says in the latest episode of the Yahoo Finance Electionomics podcast. “These figures indicate a strong potential for the losing candidate to possibly raise concerns that would provoke a crisis over the legitimacy of the 2020 presidential election.”

The Democracy Fund research is based on a detailed survey of 5,900 voters done last November and December. Unlike many political polls, which involve phone calls to a random group of Americans, the Democracy Fund research tracks several thousand voters over time to capture changes in the views of a large, consistent group of Americans.

If you want to win a game, use a strategy that gets you the most of what the rules say it takes to win the game. Going for votes in a state where you can not possibly win the electoral votes (like California) is a dumb strategy, even if it gets you a few more popular votes.

Whenever this subject comes up I say that the ‘Popular Vote’ IS in effect in YOUR STATE.

We are not ‘America’ we are the UNITED States, which elects the President using the results of the Popular Vote tallies from each state (Electors’ votes) and the Electoral College results from the States.

I must have the truncated version because I don’t see the “do-over” provision in the Constitution. Does this work like recounts where endless recounts are mandated for close state elections until the Democrat wins and then the recounts are immediately ended?
