House Democrats promise investigations, legislation after Trump commutes Roger Stone
Fox News ^ | July 11 2020 | Adam Shaw

House Democrats reacted furiously to President Trump’s Friday move to commute the prison sentence of political operative Roger Stone -- demanding an investigation and even legislation to stop similar commutations happening again.

“President Trump’s decision to commute the sentence of top campaign advisor Roger Stone, who could directly implicate him in criminal misconduct, is an act of staggering corruption,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said in a statement on Saturday.

She went on to promise that Congress would “take action” to prevent future such commutations: “Legislation is needed to ensure that no President can pardon or commute the sentence of an individual who is engaged in a cover-up campaign to shield that President from criminal prosecution.”

This should keep them distracted long enough until the Michael Flynn pardon.

“Mr. Stone was charged by the same prosecutors from the Mueller Investigation tasked with finding evidence of collusion with Russia. Because no such evidence exists, however, they could not charge him for any collusion-related crime. Instead, they charged him for his conduct during their investigation. The simple fact is that if the Special Counsel had not been pursuing an absolutely baseless investigation, Mr. Stone would not be facing time in prison.

“In addition to charging Mr. Stone with alleged crimes arising solely from their own improper investigation, the Mueller prosecutors also took pains to make a public and shameful spectacle of his arrest. Mr. Stone is a 67-year-old man, with numerous medical conditions, who had never been convicted of another crime. But rather than allow him to surrender himself, they used dozens of FBI agents with automatic weapons and tactical equipment, armored vehicles, and an amphibious unit to execute a pre-dawn raid of his home, where he was with his wife of many years. Notably, CNN cameras were present to broadcast these events live to the world, even though they swore they were not notified—it was just a coincidence that they were there together with the FBI early in the morning.

“Not only was Mr. Stone charged by overzealous prosecutors pursing a case that never should have existed, and arrested in an operation that never should have been approved, but there were also serious questions about the jury in the case. The forewoman of his jury, for example, concealed the fact that she is a member of the so-called liberal “resistance” to the Trump Presidency. In now-deleted tweets, this activist-juror vividly and openly attacked President Trump and his supporters.”

Read Article II, Section 2, Clause 1 before hand, Nancy.

The party *out of power* is ready to once again get a fast moving investigation and rocket charged impeachment going at any moment. Schiff said that about further ideas since Bolton’s book came out! And if they had gotten tax records....

The GOP waits meekly and passively, watching Barr and Durham slowly edge forward then stop a while, then move again. And set aside any hopes of bring the evil ones to justice and punishment if Durham feels a shudder at the thought of bravely doing anything that might harm a Dem in the election.

Durham is moving at the pace of a race of old tortoises trying to outrun a moving glacier, clocked by a sundial.

The House of Reps has been turned into a sicko communistic circus, evil to its core.

But fortunately, nothing it does matters much anymore.

Good Luck with this one and they would have to completely change the Constitution. Trump is doing stuff he knows will make their heads explode.

They whine about Stone’s clemency, yet they didn’t bat an eyelash after their elected Democrat cronies across the country released hundreds, perhaps thousands of terrorists without charges, that have for the last month maimed and murdered police officers and other innocent people, broke windows, destroyed property, looted, robbed, took over neighborhoods, held people hostage, extorted them, burned down buildings, toppled historic monuments, and tried to make this country a third-world Communist crap-hole.

If Trump gets re-elected, this Roger Stone commutation could be part of another impeachment.

When Bill Clinton and Barack Obama pardoned hardened criminals who caused multiple deaths of innocent people, did Pelosi demand we take action to prevent this from happening again?

It appears Pelosi is OK with serious crime going unpunished.
