“Somebody needs to talk him down from the podium”

There was no podium.

"Is Kanye a nut case? "

Indubitably!

And Harriet would have never voted for Kayne. I came across her during my Civil War research. In one collection I found at Cornell, I discovered experpts from the diary of George Thompson Garrison who was the son of William Lloyd Garrison, and Lieutenant in the 55th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment. One of those excerpts mentioned him meeting Harriet Tubman either on Morris Island, or Folly Island. They apparently knew each other because she gave him a big hug, and she told him she had been in the area for about 3 months. I know she worked with Colonel James Montgomery, who recruited the 2nd S.C. (contraband) Infantry, and she conducted raids with him.

I lived in Auburn, NY for 3 1/2 years while working at Auburn prison. Harriet Tubman's house is there, and she's buried at Fort Hill Cemetery in Auburn, as is William Henry Seward. So is Myles Keough, who served during the Civil War, then commanded Co. I of the 7th Cavalry, and died at Little Big Horn. Several years later I went back to Auburn to do research, and met a great-great-niece of Tubman's.

“Harriet Tubman never actually freed the slaves, she just had them work for other white people,” ... After West’s comments about Tubman, who is credited with freeing hundreds of slaves via the “Underground Railroad,” one crowd member groaned “Come on, man,” while a woman can be heard saying “Okay we’re leaving now.”

I would pay good money for a debate with Kanye and Biden going at it. Maybe MTV could set one up.

"My guess he is bipolar".

My guess he is on something, and it's not alcohol.

91 if memory serves. Some folks claim more, but the Tubman Museum in Cambridge, MD says 91 they’re sure of. When she led them north she took them to Canada to a property she owned there.

My sister is bipolar and one time she was visiting me and had forgotten her meds.

She had to get the quickest plane out of here to get back home.

She was also anorexic and bulimic in high school.

There has to be a connection between the two.

Who ever you know who is bipolar, I hope they are getting the help they need. Terrible disease. Or disorder, I should say.

Now you’ve got that song in my head! A classic earworm!

We should create a thread on the all-time best earworms. The problem will be that no one will be able to get the thing out of their heads! LOL!

Yes he is mentally unstable and has been so for a long time. He admits to bipolar.

While I harbor him no Ill will he is not sane and can’t be trusted for anything.

Yeah I know. It’s crazy. I post a throwaway comment like that and then I am humming this damn song and replaying scenes from honkytonks in the 1970s. :-)

Yes, they are both a form of “self medicating” to deal with the depression.

Harriet Tubman helped many slaves escape

She didn't free them, they freed themselves - she *merely* helped them make good on their direct freedom. She also didn't change their legal status.

and reach freedom.

But apparently not freedom from working.

Kookoo-land differences.
