Just match whatever the States on paying for Unemployment Benefits. Someone gets $300 a week in Unemployment, the Fed match the $300 for a total of $600.

Unemployment is based on what people were earning when employed. The more they made while Employed, the more their Unemployment Compensation.

It is equitable, not a “I won the Lotto because I’m making more for not working than working” scheme for lower Wage Earners.

Government has caused economic damage, has incurred itself liability. Public Health response arguments are weak, unfounded. Government lack of relief would lead to more damage.

True. And who was it who issued these lockdown orders? Trump? Congress? Or was it your local mayors and Governors?

Why should the Federal Government be liable for economic damage it didn't cause? Let the States and Cities pay for it!

These shitbird Governors closed damn near everything.

The logic of your statement is irrefutable.

One of the next shoes to drop will be real estate. There's a new mixed use development about a mile from where I live in Irving, Cypress Waters. Up until March, companies were flocking to it, and new residents were signing leases in the apartments nearby, new homes were sprouting up.

I drove by there yesterday, and all of the parking lots were empty...they were full back in March.

How do the mortgages and leases get paid when the revenues to pay debt service aren't coming in? It's not their fault that federal and state governments screwed the pooch.

I've got news for the tax collectors nationwide, too: you're going to see it in reduced collections for the foreseeable future, too.

" . . . internal strife has hampered any progress as Republicans try . . . "

The life story of the republican party today. INTERNAL STRIFE, HAMPER, PROGRESS, TRY. All their failures wrapped up here.

Yeah, Mitch and his buddies kept their promises on killing Obamacare, too...lol. We have no reason to trust the Republicans, except they aren't Democrats.

IMO, they're all members of the Uniparty.

Hardly. It will drop to nothing. Communists do not cater to the populace once in power. The reckoning will be immediate and inescapable. Vote for Trump and freedom or face the future as we see already with the scoff law rioters and those claiming to be peaceful demonstrators. America was and is the last place for oppressed people to come and they already do so in droves. The communist democrat party will continue their push for a global govt and the American conceited elitists who seek to defeat the reelection of Pres Trump and control this American govt will find they are very unimportant in this new World Order they are espousing.

Agreed. We haven’t even begun to feel the true pain of this long of a shutdown. It will be in textbooks.

Would you want Mitch McConnell in a foxhole with you, if you were under attack?

Without additional unemployment funds, all my furloughed employees would face eviction in 30 days.

Sounds like your employees need to learn about ramen. This is the first time in history the FedGov has given $600 free on top of regular UI. What would they have done without that? If you shut down in mid-March, almost every State gives 26 weeks of benefits, so they wouldn't get kicked off until September! And, the Fed's 13 week extension means it's actually December before ANY person affected by ChinaVirus is actually going to lose benefits. At the earliest,if they don't work at all that whole time (temp reopen, driving for uber/lyft, babysitting, etc, all of which mean less pay in benefits, but then they'll last for longer).

Not a chance. I doubt he could fine the foxhole, if he knows what a foxhole is.

That is why I quit the republican party in the early 2000s after I got my fill of GW and the rest of the RINOs. I am now one of those dreaded independents.

Mitch McConnell is the perfect example of an REMF: Rear Echelon M----r F----r. IOW, a chairborne warrior who should never be allowed near troops.

I had a couple of superiors that fit that description during my time in the Army. They were great staff officers, lol. I did some time as a staff officer, too (Battalion S-4), but I preferred being a Platoon Leader or Battery Commander.

The largest employer in our area has reopened 75% of the operation yet only 25% returned. The rest were “looking after their elderly parents”, or are single parents who are looking after their kids, or are over 65 with diabetes,; many were part time workers making 260 week who now make $120 u/e benefits plus 600 week. So their weekly income from when they worked last has gone from 260 to 720 per week. Most of them are gaming the system and I’d be surprised if 1/100 were Trump supporters. I hear that those who returned to work are demoralized that cheating coworkers make more than full time workers.

If all these people were unable to return to work due to childcare or stuff like that, it means they're ineligible for unemployment also, since they don't meet the requirement of being ready and willing to work.

Also, if they were offered their job back but refused, that's a big no-no for UI. That employer needs to report everyone who did that, and the State's workforce commission (or whoever admins the unemployment) will take those benefits back. And possibly throw 'em in jail for unemployment fraud. I'm really hoping there's a big audit/crackdown soon to hit everyone who tried that.

IIRC, this is also the first time that federal, state, and local governments have completely disrupted the conduct of business within our country, outside of WWII. Even our governor has caved to the forces seeking to destroy our country. No way in hell will I ever vote for Abbott again.

And your advice is to "learn about ramen"?

I said government, not necessarily federal government.

Fauci at the federal level certainly has culpability.

The corporate network news is certainly guilty of burying, smearing, libeling the COVID-19 prophylactic and early cure of Hydroxychloroquine + Zinc + Azithromycin which continues to this day. This regimen represents the end of the pandemic which is why those invested in lockdowns want it buried.

The President has done an amazing job at responding and managing the pandemic. He will be reelected and many will pray he holds accountable those responsible for the shutdown damage .

We are in an attempted Marxist takedown. Those of us who are unarmed should get armed. Those of us who are without emergency rations should order a backup food supply. The Marxists are going all out.
