MT has rarely elected Republican Senators since the popular vote. Steve Daines is only the 3rd in a century. The other two was a one-termer in 1946 and Conrad Burns (1989-2007) who had his 4th term stolen from him by corrupt justice officials in D.C. on fake criminal charges.
I lived there. Eastern MT is solidly red except maybe Bozeman, a college town. Too many liberals from WA and CA came in and scarfed up all the Western part of the state. Now it is contaminated with very liberal loons.
