Get this: Democrats want to scrap this year’s presidential debates. It’s not hard to guess why.
“Whatever you do,” CNN’s Joe Lockhart, who served as President Bill Clinton’s press secretary, advised Joe Biden last week, “don’t debate” President Trump.
Dem strategist Zac Petkanas argues: “This is not a normal presidential election, and Trump is not a legitimate candidate” and so doesn’t deserve a debate. (Never mind that Trump won an overwhelming majority of electoral votes.)
At The New York Times, Elizabeth Drew says debates aren’t substantive. She discounts the “relevance” of the “carefully prepared one-liner” that sways viewers.
Just how dumb do they think Americans are? The real reasons Dems don’t want Uncle Joe in a live, unscripted square-off couldn’t be clearer: They’re absolutely terrified he’ll be a disaster.

Fine, then Trump can answer questions and have Biden videos showing his responses/beliefs on the subject matter.
Biden can’t wait until he finds out who he’s choosing for Veep.
Good. Put 2 podiums on the stage and Trump can talk to the empty podium like Clint did with the chair. Trump can answer for Bye Done.
Are Democrat handlers afraid he will challenge Trump to a push up contest?
Perhaps afraid he will call Trump a lying dog faced pony soldier?
Maybe make incoherent statements about turning on a record player?
You know, a part of me thinks that there is a whole lot of sandbagging going on. They want to set the bar so low, that Zippy the Pinhead might look coherent by comparison. I think we shouldn't take the bait. The more we call Biden a basket case, the better he will ultimately look.
On the other hand, too much sandbagging becomes the baked-in public perception. Just food for thought.
Why is it, that the Democrats were happy to have a long series of debates during their primaries, and thought debates were beneficial then, but now all of a sudden, when it gets to the general election, debates are considered useless????
What changed????
Biden can’t win this, If he debates it’s assured Americans will see his inability to think and talk. If he doesn’t, Americans will be assured of his inability to think and talk.
Ah. Who needs debates when they’ll win by mail in ballot fraud, ballot harvesting and who the heck knows what else.
Keep you family safe and have a plan, keep your friends close and prepared as well. Come November 4th I think the SHTF here in America and I hope we can save her.

...ah ha. Just dismiss Trump as a total non person. Got it. That’ll work. This’ll be framed as “Joe just doesn’t want to embarrass Trump.”

...I will say...pretty f’n dumb, but understand your point.
if candidate Biden cancels debates does that mean a president Biden would cancel negotiations with foreign leaders or with congress as needed. Oh and cancel those press conferences too, the president is just not up for doing that right now.

This is the least shocking news in a long time. Biden cannot debate Trump (though he could probably still beat Paul Ryan again). They will mostly rely on the virus as an excuse but throw everything against the wall in hopes that something will stick.
If Trump loses, conservatives in general will have a collective shrug, then prepare for the worse. In other words, capitulation. Oh sure, they'll do what they can to protect themselves and their family should the SHTF. But an organized effort to save the country, which would require a civil war? Not happening.

perhaps; but Trump gets nothing out of debating Biden; he’s already dismissed him as senile, thus drastically diminishing competitive expectations...all Biden has to do is not get completely flummoxed, and he’s beaten Trump’s low bar...
and Trump will have to avoid getting hot under the collar, like he did with Clinton; he will be seen as harassing an avuncular old man...and he’ll have to remember that Biden has made a career of getting under people’s skins with a smile on his face...
Of course they want to scrap the debates. There might actually be one or two people out there that doesn’t know that Biden is has dementia.
