New York’s coronavirus death toll in nursing homes, already among the highest in the nation, could actually be a significant undercount. Unlike every other state with major outbreaks, New York only counts residents who died on nursing home property and not those who were transported to hospitals and died there.
So far the administration of Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo has refused to divulge the number, leading to speculation the state is manipulating the figures to make it appear it is doing better than other states and to make a tragic situation less dire.
A running tally by The Associated Press shows that more than 68,200 residents and staff at nursing homes and long-term facilities across the nation have died from the coronarivus, out of more than 163,000 overall deaths.
Dr. Michael Wasserman, president of the California Association of Long Term Care Medicine, said it is unethical of New York to not break out the deaths of nursing home residents at hospitals. “From an epidemiological and scientific perspective, there is absolutely no reason not to count them.”
But a controversial March 25 order to send recovering COVID-19 patients from hospitals into nursing homes that was designed to free up hospital bed space at the height of the pandemic has drawn withering criticism from relatives and patient advocates who contend it accelerated nursing home outbreaks.
Cuomo reversed the order under pressure in early May.

I click the link for the source (AP) and the page displays for a couple seconds or so and then goes blank. Anyone else experience this?
Well this year proved my own family right out of their own fears to keep their elders out of nursing homes.

To the Cuomo/leftist mind it was OK to send those “recovering” Covid-19 patients to the nursing homes. The “Nursing Home” patients were after all “over 30”, and a burden on the new utopian society. Better for all they were infected, and eliminated. (S)
Yeah, I was alive in the sixties, and saw it all explode on the scene. We knew then what was going on, where they were leading us, and what they were advocating for, but we never had the leaders to address that aspect of issues. When ONE did get voted in he had too much other critical repair due the left to address.

I think Cuomo purposely had these elderly killed, he was ordered to solely to up the death rate to blame Trump. Think about it; Yes Cuomo is an idiot, but how freakin stupid do you have to be to order INFECTED people to move in with non-infected ESPECIALLY when you have two hospital ships and the Javitts center to house them? Are you kidding me? I think this was never suppose to be leaked but it did, and now they are trying to cover up the huge amount of deaths.
Call me a conspiracy nut, but I think what we got here is hardcore enemies of the USA putting lives 2nd to their mad quest for power and I think they were involved with China in releasing this Corona virus. It just works a little too much in the democrats favor don’t you think? It immediately put an end to Trumps rallies, it destroyed his top two running platforms - the economy and jobs, and now they are using it as an excuse to rig the election with mail in ballots.
I think we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg here and I don’t think it’s just Soros who is involved but China as well.
