Steve Bannon, ‘We Build The Wall’ organizers arrested, charged with defrauding donors
Steve Bannon has been federally indicted for conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering in connection to a crowdfunding campaign to build a border wall. Bannon was arrested this morning in Washington, D.C. on charges he and others allegedly made false representations about the “We Build the Wall campaign.”
Bannon, 66 is expected to appear in court virtually on Thursday.
Prosecutors said Bannon and others defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors to the online campaign by falsely assuring them the organizers were not taking a penny of donation money — Bannon had publicly stated, “we’re a volunteer organization.”
“Those representations were false,” the indictment said.
Bannon, Brian Koflage, 38, of Mirimar Beach, Florida, Andrew Badolato, 56, of Sarasota, Florida, and Timothy Shea, 49, of Castle Rock, Colorado, were each charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. Each charge carries a maximum of 20 years in prison.
The defendants allegedly defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors in connection with the crowdfunding campaign, which raised more than $25 million.
The indictment was brought by prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
“As alleged, the defendants defrauded hundreds of thousands of donors, capitalizing on their interest in funding a border wall to raise millions of dollars, under the false pretense that all of that money would be spent on construction,” acting U.S. Attorney Audrey Strauss said in a press release. “While repeatedly assuring donors that Brian Kolfage, the founder and public face of We Build the Wall, would not be paid a cent, the defendants secretly schemed to pass hundreds of thousands of dollars to Kolfage, which he used to fund his lavish lifestyle.”
According to the indictment, Bannon took at least $1 million to pay personal expenses.

Moore would have been an excellent senator and would have opposed the Mitch deep state crowd. Thanks to the Kavanaugh like smear campaign, attacks by establishment republicans, and voting irregularities, Moore lost by a narrow margin. Fortunately, we in Alabama have overwhelmingly rejected Sessions and will replace Jones with the Nov election.

Bannon’s War Room podcast was pushing “War Room:Epidemic”, with its worst of worst Chinese coronavirus porn back to *JANUARY* this year. Always struck me as part of the larger Deep State operation, though supposedly from the right.
He could well have been on Trump’s radar for payback and neutralization these last couple of years.

The AG should control and have oversight of his prosecutors. These prosecutors overstepped their roles.
And don’t forget the most important fact of all. There is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that Bannon was doing this while in the White House so there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever that Trump had any knowledge of, much less part in, this scheme. It’s important to highlight that because you know the media will imply otherwise.
Well, he lives in Miramar Beach, Florida, not far from where I sit this minute. It is a fairly high class neighborhood between Destin and Sandestin. Million dollar beach houses, condos and hotels. Redneck Riviera, Mercedes, BMWs and Teslas abound with occasional Lambos, Maseratis and RRs and Bentleys................
SDNY is known for running its operations independently and loves it.
So there’s no way this isn’t part of a political play. They’ve been trying to get at President Trump for years.
All they landed up with is destroying one of his lawyers, Michael Cohen.
So, I have to be skeptical. Even if these type of groups are rife with this kind of excess; the politics here is beaming.

Yes, we see the problem and the timing...before RNC Convention & Election. BUT, main stream media, allies of Dems, will continually show pics of Bannon with Trump and never mention SDNY bias against Trump.
Can just hear Chris Wallace on Sunday program salivating and connecting relationships between Trump & Bannon.

I read the article and see the picture but nowhere are we told who the picture represents. Are we supposed to guess which of the four charged - all we know is it’s not Bannon?
