In my city you have to wear a mask to enter any building, I obey begrudgingly...I believe in covid, but it’s the flu and is dangerous to; morbidly obese, diabetics, asthmatics, elderly, so on...I’ve been out and about for 6 months, hanging with my son’s college friends, etc...and nothing...no covid. To me any virus in which you have to be tested to know you have it is nothing to worry about. As for the masks, if you can smell a fart through someone’s pants and underwear, I doubt very much a mask works at all.
One of the guys from my high school circle of friends is in the arts. Back in the 80s, we were in some bar down in SoHo and he introduced us to one of his friends who was an actor. If you addressed him as Chad, he would correct you; it had to be Chadwick. I was thinking, dude, get over yourself. You're not Pacino or DeNiro. You're in off-off-off Broadway plays that are only attended by your family & friends.
Cloward-Piven,
You’re Absolutely Correct.
You would think so. But with Democrats in 2020 I no longer think that is true.
Democrats want a weak national economy. Democrats want weak voters. Democrats want weak families. Democrats want weak police. Weak military. Weak courts. Weak everything.
A weak economy in a Democrat administration can be explained away as the new normal, or blamed on evil Republicans.
A weak economy will be the perfect excuse for a guaranteed personal income, free health care, free college tuition, free reparations . . .
And I thought it was just about free Obama phones.
I wear my mask
All the time.
I’m scared of
The Dark and the Sunshine.
Wear YOUR Mask at All TIMES
.
I sing this at work.
To the tune of
“Sunglasses at Night.”
Damn,
I thought I
Was an Original!
No masks Allowed,,,
OSHA should be in on this!
Oxygen deprived workers’
Are Dangerous.
Masks inhibit communication
and Fog ones Glasses!
.
I want a Lawyer!
Exempt,,,
Wow,the new way
To shout
.
“LEPER!”
The ironic part is that slowing the spread might have been a mistake - our immune systems operate through natural exposure.
We may have created a second wave..
Those Badges,
almost said BADGERS,
are pretty Cool!
Thanks.
I’m ordering a couple...they’ll be great ice-breakers at the store.
Methane and other molecules are 100 times smaller than the virus. And masks are not to stop viruses but droplets at least 100 times larger than the virus.
Of course we created a second wave, that was inevitable. And had we not slowed the spread we would have double or more deaths by now.
To put it even more simply, where we sped up the spread, e.g. in NY putting COVID into nursing homes, we had far more death.
By slowing the spread we gave ourselves more time to develop better treatments. And in many cases we probably did not diminish beneifical (low level) exposure.
Well, actually I am a petroleum geologist so most of my life is spent in the office. We sit around in smoking jackets sipping cognac in smoked-filled rooms thinking of ways to rape and pillage the earth.
I disagree with all of that - except of course the nursing homes fiasco.
What happened there was a perfect example of unintended consequences from bureaucratic meddling.
I see you support Faucis guidelines - I dont.
Everything they forced on us was either pointless or made it worse.
In a million years there is only one thing that ever beat a virus - the natural immune system, which kicks in through exposure. Even vaccines (the few that actually work) depend 100% on natural immunity through exposure.
You can try and live in a bubble, but all that does is weaken your immune system, so that when you finally do get exposed, you are worse off.
We should never have shut anything down, especially the schools. We should never have social distanced or worn these stupid bacteria ridden masks.
The ONLY thing we should have done was stay away from other people if you are sick, and keep germs away from very old people or people with serious health conditions - but that is just common sense.
The biggest one is the massive storm of anecdotes on Facebook and Twitter...
People shouldn’t kid themselves the riots and protests were about keeping the virus active for those in power.
‘And masks are not to stop viruses but droplets at least 100 times larger than the virus.’
and a common handkerchief would work better at stopping droplets from a sneeze or a cough; as would also the crook of an elbow...
you know, like we’ve been doing for most our lives from common decency, without being mandated...
