Detroit election officials say that 72 percent of absentee ballot precincts recorded totals that didn’t match the actual number of votes. Wayne County, the state’s largest county, is calling for an official investigation.
The Wayne County Board of Canvassers is asking Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson to look at “training and processes” used in the August 4 primary that one official called “a perfect storm” of challenges, according to the Detroit News.
In 46% of all Detroit’s precincts — absentee and Election Day — vote counts were out of balance, according to information presented Tuesday to the Wayne County Board of Canvassers. Specifically, the number of ballots tracked in precinct poll books did not match the number of ballots counted.
The situation could amplify the spotlight on absentee ballots in Michigan ahead of an election for which record levels of mail-in voting are expected and President Donald Trump is already raising concerns about how votes will be handled.
Are they math-challenged in Detroit? It ain’t rocket science, guys, it’s addition and subtraction.
One of the Democrats on the canvassing board assured us all that everything is fine, no need to panic.
The election results for the primary weren’t incorrect, said Jonathan Kinloch, a Democrat and one of the canvassing board’s four members. But, he said, something had gone wrong in the process of tracking ballots precinct by precinct.
Having balanced precincts is particularly important in Michigan because precincts whose poll books don’t match with ballots can’t be recounted, according to state law. Instead, the original election results would stand.
“It was a perfect storm,” Kinloch said.

I remember from the Jill Stein recount that she stopped her recount request once they realized the numbers in Detroit didn’t add up, more votes then voters, the locals were rerunning ballot stacks to prop up Hillary’s numbers, those darn clever Russians
If they would have recounted Detroit, Trump’s lead would have widened substantially

Mail out, mail in ballots have no chain of custody. Not only does it invite and encourage fraud, it becomes inevitable.
The mail in ballots are going to be used to keep the counting in turmoil until the new year. then Poof Interim President for life Pelosi.
What exactly do they mean by saying the precinct totals don’t match the actual number of votes?
Are they saying there are more votes than voters? If so, by how many votes?
Detoilet has more registered voters than residents over the age of 18.
I occasionally listen to the Democrats’ plans on a local NPR station. They’re trying to recruit as many young people as possible to work in polling locations. The focus is on young Democrats.
He only needs 270 and the rest of the noise is useless. In quite a few states, the event of a failed vote is resolved by the state legislature choosing the electors. The Republic does not have loopholes.
Here's an idea:
Big sign at all Polling Locations: "College Loan Forgiveness Program: If you provide credible evidence of attempted voter fraud, some or all of your College Loans may be forgiven by the federal government. Voter Fraud is a serious crime and carries the possibility of significant jail time."

precincts whose poll books don’t match should not be counted in the first place. None of those votes should be allowed to influence the election in any way.

I have a great fear that this coming November will be a nightmare. We might have litigation which will drag on till next year if this mail in voting is allowed.
If they can’t fix things in Detroit ( and in a Congressional election in New York city where it took 6 WEEKS to determine the winner ), imagine what this will look like every where else on a NATIONAL SCALE !!
Wayne County, always the last in the state to report results. They wait until they see how many Dem votes are needed for the Dem candidate to win.
of course, notice how the dems are saying Trump is causing Chaos, so when it happens he gets blamed even after he daily says this will be a farce.
