An estimated 54%–70% of hospitalizations and 71%–85% of deaths occurred among adults aged over 65 years. This model used a multiplier method to correct for under-detection in hospitalizations attributable to cases for which influenza testing was not performed and for suboptimal test sensitivity.
Using similar methodology, for seven seasons from 2010-11 through 2015-16 it has been estimated that between 9.2—35.6 million illnesses, 4.3—16.7 million outpatient medical visits, 139,000—708,000 hospitalizations were attributable to influenza each season (16) Excess deaths were estimated to be 4,000-20,000 per season for P&I deaths and 12,000-56,000 for respiratory and circulatory deaths."

I don’t know if I’m buying what this article is selling.
Suppose an old man has a bad heart condition. And his evil nephew pushes him down a flight of stairs. A healthy man would have survived. But the old man dies. Should the old man’s death be listed as a murder, or complications from a heart condition? I’d say murder. The old man would still be alive if not for the nephew.
The same argument applies here. If a sick person would still be alive if not for the Covid-19, then as I see it, it’s a Covid-19 related death.
Fauci is not an epidemiologist. He was above his depth. He misrepresented himself as an expert in a field he had no expertise in, so in that sense he lied. He depended on the badly flawed model by Chicken Little British epidemiologist Neil Ferguson, who has predicted 12 out of the last 2 pandemics, neither of them accurately.
The Lancet and Ferguson have caused more damage to the British economy than the Luftwaffe ever did. Joseph Goebbels would have paid some serious Reichsmarks to have had a secret agent like Ferguson and a weapon like the Lancet on his side.
If we had news media in this country, this would make a huge story. Did locking down America and controlling everything from a false public health standpoint benefit anyone in particular in an election year?
So Dr Immanuel and the other physicians with her, who were all maligned by the demon- rats and media, WERE RIGHT.

Sadly, a lot were like my uncle. He was in very bad shape. Alzheimer’s, vision gone, inability to walk. He had been extremely healthy until about age 89 but in March 2020 when he caught covid in his residential place for memory care, he was 93. He did not have any quality of life and required a lot of care. Covid did put him into the next world. Timing not bad for him at that point. Saddest is that he was forced to die alone without his beloved children around him. That was the worst part.
CDC guidelines require Docs to “add” “died of Covid” if there is a suspicion of infection. Not tested positive, just suspicion: Like they cough, sneeze, in same room as someone who might have Covid.
Forms and regulations are rigged to inflate numbers. Rigged by CDC. And, hospitals have no incentive to downplay ‘cause hospital is significantly reimbursed if there is a “died of Covid” notation.

President Trump has them in a bind.

There are many folks out there who want to maximize the Covid-19 death numbers for their own reasons. And sadly, there are also folks out there who are want to minimize the numbers for their own reasons.
One problem with minimizing those numbers is that it lets the Chinese Communists off the hook. By their inaction and their lies the ChiComs have caused world-wide misery. Your late uncle was damaged by them as much as anything else.
even 160000 out of 330 million is that incredibly low number to have destroyed a country’s economy over. Yes we are bouncing back fast but we added six trillion plus to the debt.

My father had a kidney infection before penicillin was invented so it did damage to his bodily organs.

very likely none of these things would have happened without the damage to his organs from the infection.
That’s a tough one because we are talkin 50 years later. It is more clear with c o v i d because the cause-and-effect are so close in time.

Long term the CDC only estimates what is called the morbidity burden of the flu. The morbidity burden is a statistical estimate, that I will attempted to explain in a minute. There is not an attempt to attribute any single individual death to influenza. Rather this number represents an attempt to estimate the number of additional deaths in the entire United States due to influenza in a calendar year. Statistically, the death of an otherwise healthy person has greater influence on the estimate than the death of a person who was likely to have died anyway that year. For instance a 35-year old man has a 0.002138 chance of dying between his 35th and 36th birthday, the death of an otherwise healthy 35-year old contributes 0.99786 "statistical" deaths. A 95-year old on the other hand has a 0.263672 probability of dying before his 96th birthday, so his death only contributes 0.73633 "statistical" deaths. (This is a greatly oversimplified example, but you get the idea.)
Morbidity burden is not a perfect measure, but it helps guide policy and weigh relative costs. How much should we worry about influenza, versus cancer, heart disease, motor vehicle accidents, etc?
