She created a fake Twitter persona — then she killed it with COVID-19

Something was off about the memorial service for the anonymous anthropology professor who’d died of COVID-19. ...

That made sense, in retrospect, because McLaughlin had fabricated her whole cloth. According to a report in The New York Times, since 2016, she’d been posting about sexual harassment in the science community using the Twitter handle @Sciencing_Bi, which she passed off as a Native American professor who’d “fled the south because of their oppression of queer folk.” McLaughlin is white. She constructed a person of color to guard herself against criticism from actual people of color, who were beginning to come forward with worrying complaints about her leadership. ...

The activities of this McLaughlin woman are like a walk though academic fantasy land - a contest to grab the status of being the most oppressed.

FAKE! Fake Hate Crimes List

http://www.fakehatecrimes.org

Ping me to Fake Hate Crime stories. Everyone is welcome to join the list. PM me and be informed of the latest fake hate crimes.

Ping to the list! This is not fully a fake hate crime, as it was not reported to the police as such. But it is an elaborate fraud, set up to benefit the inventor. It is the touching story of the Native American academic who “fled the south because of their oppression of queer folk", then died because a University forced her to continue teaching when it was not safe.

You can smell BS stories a mile away. They are just a little too convenient in their outcomes when an agenda is invovled.

As the professor started to document her battle with COVID, she wrote: “My state university just cut my salary by 15%. They also kept my school open and me teaching well past when they knew it was unsafe to be in crowds. No. I won’t answer questions. I don’t have tenure.’”

Yeah. The outcomes are too much exactly “on message.” The characters/participants too one dimensional or stereotypical, details are either missing or too well known. Ditto motivations, inexplicable or too on the nose. It is actually fairly difficult to write decent fiction that is engaging and believable. Even more difficult to write fiction that holds up to moderate scrutiny.

Wrong. I live in the south, and we do not oppress gays.

Me too. And I could care less what grownups do sexually with and to each other BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. Just don’t go shoving it in my face. Private stuff should be kept private.

The only member of the alphabet crowd facing oppression these days are black tranny prostitutes who are robbed, beaten, and murdered by black men and lesbian TERFs who are cancelled by liberals for not accepting trannies as real women.

I agree. That's a "tell" for these fake stories.
