A notice that Minden-Tahoe Airport will be closed on Saturday fueled rumors that President Trump will be flying into Carson Valley.
“The Minden-Tahoe Airport will be hosting a VIP guest and at the direction of the Secret Service and other public officials, the airport will be closed,” the notice read.
The airport will also be under a temporary flight restriction, preventing aircraft from arriving, departing or transitioning its air space.

A 6,000 ft runway in Gardnerville is unlikely to host Air Force One.
I didn’t know that that airport could handle Airforce One.
Looking forward to watching the rally.
Maybe not a 747....but the 757, that could.
Remember that the President has a whole fleet to choose from, including helicopters of even a V-22 Osprey.

I will vote for a 747 to a larger airport and then a helicopter to the small one for the rally.

Douglas County went 63% for Trump in 2016. It’s also open carry. So that would be a NO.
The C-32 (757) can easily land within 6,000 feet and remember there is a Gulfstream 5 that can do it as well. C-32 has higher performing engines and brakes than a normal 757.
I wonder why Gardnerville and not Reno?
I doubt that air field has 200 parking spaces and there’s probably not 5,000 people that live within a 20 mile radius.
The TFR is dubbed as a POTUS TFR, and is centered about Vegas. AF1 can just land at their gargantuan runway, and take a lesser “af1” chopper or whatever to any nearby satellite airport.
The Minden runway is 7400 feet according to wikipedia. Should be fine.
The Minden airport is as close to Carson City as it is to Gardnerville.

The population in a 20 mile radius won’t matter, trust me. I drove over 200 miles one way to go to a hangar rally in 2016.
Land in Reno and close other airports-security.
