Attorney General Barr trying to reign in the madhouse at the DOJ. :)

"Name one successful organization or institution where the lowest level employees' decisions are deemed sacrosanct, there aren't. There aren't any letting the most junior members set the agenda," Barr said during his speech.

"It might be a good philosophy for a Montessori preschool, but it is no way to run a federal agency," the attorney general added.

I think formerly interned Japanese Americans would beg to differ.

I think Native American Indians forced onto reservations would beg to differ.

Will Barr be filing an Amicus brief in Tom Wolf’s appeal of his smackdown to the Third Circuit? Unless Barr is just bloviating hot air the answer would have to be yes.

Just curious …who would FReepers like to see as the Attorney General in President Trump’s next term?

Tom Fitton from Judicial Watch.

I believe the locks downs and the arbitrary business closing and numbers of gatherings are toast as per PA Butler v wolf. Any of the rules that are arbitrary ambiguous can now be overturned. masks arent on the agenda yet but the judge hjinted at the new normal and it wil;l be interesting to see. what the future is for that because who will get to decide what that is? According to this federal judge it won’t be a bunch of politicians.

Barr’s comments were quite correct. The media was outraged.

Thank you for courage to say this, AG Barr! That took courage and shows that you do know some lawful law.

Joe Biden will not be President, so it’s a moot point who he picks for his cabinet. BUT, Eric Holder would be his best choice.

Good question. Who will be Biden’s AG?

You mean his Alzheimer's Guide?

I’d like to see William Barr as AG in a second term, assuming the President wins decisively, and with coattails.

I believe that due to enemies in congress, the bureaucracy, and the courts, the executive branch has been badly hobbled during President Trump’s entire first term.

He has done an amazing job considering, and he has been a good sport about it, but I think the constrains on him have been far worse than he lets on.

A good leader doesn’t whine and make excuses - a good leader puts on a brave face and does the best he can - and that is exactly what President Trump has done.

He will never admit how close he came to being destroyed - that would be showing weakness.

My point is that a decisive re-election landslide will offer him a second term completely unlike his first term. He will have a mandate from the people. He will have much friendlier courts. Congress will truly have his back.

President Trump’s second term will really be his first opportunity to push through his agenda - and it will be the first opportunity for his department heads to reign in their bureaucracies and purge deep state obstructionists.

I believe the President, the AG, and other cabinet chiefs have had to deal with impossible power struggles these past years and have had to pick their battles.

I believe they are just trying to hold on until help arrives from We The People on November 3, 2020.

We have to give him a decisive victory this time so that he and his team can unleash the full authority of the executive branch.

In the right circumstances, AG Barr will do just fine.

You can quibble about the Japanese but what was done in this country this year will go down in history as the greatest travesty SINCE world war two. It’s WORSE because it was done to EVERYBODY. This business that you can tyrannize the majority as long as you coddle the minority is over. It has got to be over or we’re done. And if the public health establishment say this is how you handle a pandemic, there must be serious serious change there. Always knew there was something wrong with those people.

The difference is they were considered part of the “enemy combatants” in wartime, right or wrong. Being consigned to lockdown as a completely innocent and healthy person is having your right to move and travel, work and earn a living restricted, it is like house arrest for absolutely no crime or connection with an enemy in time of war!

So of course, the degree of persecution and hardship is not in the same category at all, but the fact that it is done completely lawlessly and putting restrictions on innocent people is what is a huge violation of civil rights.

American civilian citizens are not enemy combatants and never have been. The FBI director flat-out told Roosevelt that they could handle any traitors. This was nothing more than Democrats keeping up their racist traditions for political expediency. How many ethnic Germans were interned? Italians?

CNN’s bias is just dripping with venom here. Barr is spot on in his assessment and he is defending liberty not the President. Which, of course, is the real enemy of CNN.
