NeverTrumpers Unhinged Over Their Growing Irrelevance
American Thinker.com ^ | September 21, 2020 | Brian C. Joondeph

Washington D.C. has always been a club, with decorum and strict membership rules. Most of us are not in this club and would have no desire to join if offered membership based on our morals, ethics, and a desire to look at ourselves in the mirror every day without being disgusted.

George Carlin said it best, “It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it.” The club goes by many names – deep state, swamp, uniparty – and the club charter is quite clear, outlined ironically by someone not in the club, blackballed by the membership committee. President Trump, before the 2016 election described the club as follows and offered an alternative for the deplorables not in the “big club”,

Our movement is about replacing a failed and corrupt political establishment with a new government controlled by you, the American People. There is nothing the political establishment will not do, and no lie they will not tell, to hold on to their prestige and power at your expense. The Washington establishment, and the financial and media corporations that fund it, exists for only one reason: to protect and enrich itself.

NeverTrumpers represent the Republican side of the uniparty. They opposed Trump’s candidacy, presidency, and upcoming reelection. As the 2020 election approaches, their derangement is ratcheting up. Any pretense of conservatism being tossed out the window to disparage Trump and prevent his reelection. The passing of Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg will increase their caterwauling by an order of magnitude.

They were rendered irrelevant when Donald Trump TROUNCED their candidate Yeb! and his 120 million dollar war chest into the dust.

The biggest boneheads this election, are the imbeciles that fund the Lincoln Project.

They won’t have a political party to join after Nov 3rd.

Neither the Democrats or Republicans want anything to do with them.

Pierre Delecto, et al. would do well to study history.

Our Founders did not *want* bipartisanship. That’s a synonym for tyranny.

Those far wiser than we are envisioned a permanent state of dynamic tension between the two parties. They are *supposed* to brawl. I suspect the occasional duel would not have been met with much more than a “meh”.

We are supposed to have a winner and a loser.

This is precisely why third parties are a horrible idea for the U.S. we could elect a ~ 34% president. Again, tyranny.

Our Founders were not about Kumbaya. Our troops had been through hell, fighting a long and horrifically bloody war to escape tyranny by the minority. It was what our Founders feared most. The Constitution and our form of government was structured to have every imaginable safeguard against exactly that.

I spit on *bipartisanship*.

Being a better moderate Democrat seldom works for Republicans. I think that Romney is boxed in, he has binders of women, now he needs to prove he can support a woman for SCOTUS. Also, Utah voters would want a conservative candidate for SCOTUS appointed, makes no sense for Pierre to make two more mistakes as this will be his legacy.

Very well put !

Bipartisanship where we all give hugs only exists in dictatorships !

And you pointed out very well our system is not designed to accommodate 3rd parties. That is because we are not a parliamentary system. ! Third, fourth, fifth parties are free to exist but they are eventually either absorbed into the major parties or remain on the politically ridiculous fringe. Mainly they exist to allow people to do conservative-oriented virtue signaling.

Would love to see a poll of Freepers as to support of the President vs considering one’ self a conservative, but would rather see a different republican president.

I am a Trumpian. :-)

If Basement Biden somehow wins, either through real votes, cheating, or a court decision...

Say hello to amnesty for every illegal, permanent mail-in ballots, nationwide ballot-harvesting, an end to the electoral college, a bailout for Democrat-run cities that did nothing while rioters destroyed their cities. That will be day one.

Day two will see the Green New Deal and Medicare For All passed into law and signed by Biden, assuming he hasn’t resigned yet. Day three will see statehood for Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C., meaning 4 more Democrat senators, and an expanded Supreme Court with far-left justices quickly confirmed without hearings or discussion.

Amnesty will turn Texas and Florida blue, ending any electoral college hopes of a Republican ever winning the White House. Mail-in ballots will take care of the remaining swing states. Every election will be a Democrat landslide.

Worth reading...ping.

When the government is getting along it is usually because it is united in its determination to be in on the kill. Fear of being a jackal that has to wait for the lions to finish is what drives bipartisanship.

In my opinion an inefficient government is a great protector of liberty. You know who really has their stuff together? Despots, that’s who.

Irrelevance can’t “grow”. One is either relevant or is not. You can be more or less relevant but you can’t be more irrelevant.

They are beyond “NeverTrump” at this point and perhaps they always were and that is now being revealed. One of their top targets is Susan Collins, for example. If you supposedly believe the GOP is too abrasive, too extreme, whatever other stereotypical cliche, why in the world would you want her of all people out of office? She’s about as milquetoast as you can get.

I also have a neighbor who is a Biden/Harris supporter, with a yard sign that has a hook of:

“Our Best Days Lie Ahead”

I’m thinking a FR photoshop wiz could easily change that to:

“Our best lies are days ahead!”
