“COVID times call for drastic measures.”

Good point, and provided Trump picks a recently confirmed judge the committee should be limit their investigation from the last confirmation date, no issues prior to that time will be allowed.

If no relevant issues then have a committee vote and onto the full senate. The more time they spend in committee the less time Harris can campaign.

More than just a few people share your sentiment.

Trump should make the nomination but not push the Senate to act. However, Trump should challenge Biden to a least release a brief list of the Black women he would nominate and let the voters decide.

Probably why the Public Announcement is projected to be this Friday. Try to catch them in the senate before the week is out and force a vote. Prevent them from pulling a disappearing act.

***********************************************************
The Senate doesn’t need to be “pushed”... they are planning to act expeditiously as soon as they get the name. The new Justice WILL be confirmed BEFORE the election.

Exactly!

There’s no need for faux hearings.

I think they should allow the Democrats as much time as they want, let their attacks become more and more shrill and insane as they attack a mother who was just confirmed a few years ago. That’ll play well with the electorate.

The 45 Democrats and two “independents” have announced their votes.

Why do they need hearings? Are they prepared to change their votes?

Hey now, Burt got a best supporting actor nod from the academy for Boogie Nights. Don’t see one of those in the shat’s or the Hoff’s future.

Is Kamala going to be one of the ones questioning her? She won’t be able to not be a totally nasty b!**h, which is such a turn off for voters.

Two days max of debate and stick to it. That’s more than enough abuse from the nuts.

RBG was confirmed in just 42 days. two other justices confirmed in less than 40 days. I think it was in a tweet from Chuck Schumer from 2016, but plenty of others mention it as well.

Nothing about 2020 has been “typical”, why would you want to start now?

I hope it’s Krakatoa level volcanic rage. Anything less will not be as much fun to watch.

Actually, these hearings need to be stretched out for about 3-4 weeks more. Fills a vacuum that would otherwise be used by the Dems to spring October surprises, or otherwise stir up trouble. Keep them pinned down with the SCOTUS hearings so that they have no time to do anything else of significance to stir the pot. Plus it will give the viewing audience an opportunity to watch the vile Dems bullying the nominee, turning the thinking public against them.

Thank you RBG, you’re timing to exit left was exquisite.

I’m more concerned of 4-4 PRE election day voting process/rules issues that are going to be going to the courts. Ballot harvesting, extended acceptance of ballots after the close of polls, no signatures, no or illegible post marks. These, and others are prep for vote fraud and need to be stopped prior to the election. The SC needs a full house to avoid a split decision which will allow the appeals court opinion to stand.
