More “Presidential” debates cannot happen anymore since lying and propaganda has become the norm. Also used to be the moderator didn’t involve himself in the debate to help one side over the other.
Univision had a poll of their viewers, 66 percent said TRUMP WON which really surprised me and was nice to see

I still think the optics 2nite hurt Sleepy Joe bad, he looked old... calling the President a clown and telling him to ‘shut up’ was damaging especially to many folks, especially seniors.
Yes, I think the Left saw Wallace propping their candidate up and that’s not going over well.
Against all odds, Trump had to poke at Joe. Get him confused and not trust his ear piece.
This is code speak to have Trump act like Mitt Romney and automatically lose a debate.
While I do agree that Trump was pressing hard, the questions were pointedly tilted against Trump. Trump is asked about taxes but Biden is completely spared about profiting while in office. Biden was not pressed on ANY question. Wallace should have made Biden answer the question about packing the court.
The format didn’t seem to allow for rebuttal of all Biden’s lies.
Wallace was a joke, the Ultimate Loser of the night - terrible moderator !

Yep, no knockout blows. Trump just repeated things he said before. And Biden came off as a moderate republican, disavowing the green new deal, medicare for all, etc. His base is not very happy.

Twas like Rambo fighting George Foreman. I saw Muhammed Ali won, it was more like a boxing match. I wonder what the judges said. I predict all Trump supporters will say Trump won, and all Biden supporters will say Joe won.. But the edge, of confidence exuded goes to the Orange Man.
I think Trump made Biden answer questions that made him lose some of his base and not excite them.
And, I also think Biden hurt himself by not answering serious questions including the supreme Court packing etc.

I think Wallace was trying to be fair in his own way, but had bought into some of the propaganda himself and did not realize he was just parroting some talking points that were not in fact true.
Trump had to either be rude or get run over. But on balance it was worth the cost for Trump, since Biden ended up being rude as well. Trump was already known to be rude, but realistic and competent. Biden came off as rude, phony and incompetent.

Yes it was much too combative. He needs to look good to the viewers. There are millions of independents and others who wanted to see POTUS at his best. He wasn’t. To me, he should treat Biden as a sideshow and really be addressing the people. Review his past four years which were outstanding. He did not do that well at all leaving out some important accomplishments, He also needs to lay out his vision for the next term.
