Early in my professional career I had a boss that took me aside and had a nice little chat with me. I was full of piss and vinegar. I could see all the things that could be improved. I was politely told that I should cut the criticism and offer solutions. He was right. We're still friends today.

yes, i too have learned that whenever venting, to always offer some type of solution or improvement on what i’m complaining about.
at my last job, I was the master of writing huge emails pulling apart everything, but I always made sure to offer a positive at the end.
