President Donald Trump has several strikes against him — age, obesity, elevated cholesterol and being male — that could put him at greater risk of becoming seriously ill from the coronavirus infection he disclosed late Thursday.

Trump and first lady Melania Trump, who also tested positive, “are both well at this time” and plan to remain at the White House while recovering and being closely monitored, according to a statement from his physician, Dr. Sean Conley.

A White House official said Friday that Trump was having mild symptoms.

Wishful thinking once again masquerading as news.

It’s factual. I don’t see any ghoulishness there.

Melania Tweeted saying: “WE ARE OK AND FEELING WELL”

Which indicates to me that they are probably ASYMPTOMATIC, like the vast majority of those who get infected.

The next paragraph is good, still factual...
“The odds are far and away that he’ll have a mild illness” as most people with the virus do, said Dr. Gregory Poland, an infectious disease specialist at the Mayo Clinic who has no role in Trump’s care.

But COVID-19 is very unpredictable, he stressed. “We have young people who die. We have nursing home patients, a lot of them, who actually do quite well,” Poland said.

Then, naturally, they go off the rails. They just can't give this up...
No treatments have proven effective for preventing illness in someone who is infected but with no or mild symptoms. That includes hydroxychloroquine, a drug Trump long promoted and even took himself earlier this year after a White House staffer tested positive for the virus.

Amy Coney Barrett and her husband had covid19 over the summer, according to Jack Posobiec’s twitter. With their big family, that would have been a major concern. They’re all ok now.

So, being built like a strong and robust man into one’s 70’s is “obese”. Guess Ronald Reagan was fat by this guy’s measure. And what does that make a spheroid like Rep Nadler then? The writer can go back to his tofu and consume it in reverse.

I don’t think Trump’s going to have much problems. He’s energetic, he’s gotten a lot of sun, he’s probably hitting HQC pretty hard.

President Trump is in perfect health, great shape with no underlying conditions.

Lots of wishful thinking in this article. Against this is the fact that the overwhelming majority of people with all of these conditions get through COVID-19 just fine.

I wonder what the rates are for Covid 19 patients with the best health care and who are really healthy to start with?

“no comorbidities”

I had not heard that. Was that just announced?

That is amazing because he is not a fitness buff. Almost every male that age has hypertension and diabetes or pre-diabetes is very prevalent when you weigh that much.

Agreed. Everyone is running around as if their hair is on fire.

We are a bunch of hypochondriac wimps. I am concerned about America and how we’d react if we had a real crisis and a real threat. Not very well, unfortunately.
