Lost in the reporting of the World Health Organization's new estimate that about 760 million people – more than 20 times the confirmed cases – have been infected by the coronavirus worldwide is the impact on the estimated survival rate.
If, indeed, 760 million have been infected at some point during the outbreak and the number of confirmed deaths is about 1 million, the infection fatality rate is only 0.13%.
That's a little more than one-tenth of 1%, which the WHO says is the rate for the seasonal flu.
The WHO's estimate in March of a death rate of 3.4% sparked panic worldwide, fueling the catastrophic lockdowns.
A rate of 3.4% is more than 26 times higher than a rate of 0.13%.
The Associated Press reported Monday that Dr. Michael Ryan, speaking to a special session of the WHO's COVID-19 board, said the figures vary from urban to rural areas.

According to my math it’s even much lower than that AND you have to take into account that the numbers are skewed. So it could be even lower than that. I said from the beginning that if I saw them burning piles of bodies in the street then it’s time to panic. Well.

What amazes me is that so few of us here, and we are legion, knew of anyone in our various circles who died from Covid. I know three people that GOT it, but all recovered at home, saying it was no worse than the flu.
So, yeah - numbers had to have been being manipulated for evil, as usual. Jerks.

Umm what? The @who now estimates that 750,000,000 people have gotten the ro? Which, at 1 million death, would put the death rate at 1 in 750 (even with overcounting, etc) - or 0.13%. That’s the lowest estimate I’ve ever seen. Say it with me: IT’S THE FLU.

finally, BBC, Forbes, AP an other MSM are carrying the story. however, NONE are interested in working out what it would mean for the mortality rate!

But Zhang Yang of China’s National Health Commission, said: “China has always been transparent and responsible to fulfil our international obligations.” China maintained close contacts with all levels of the U.N. health agency, she added...
The WHO has submitted a list of experts to take part in an international mission to China to investigate the origin, for consideration by Chinese authorities, Ryan said, without giving details.
U.S. assistant health secretary Brett Giroir said that it was critical that WHO’s 194 member states receive “regular and timely updates, including the terms of reference for this panel or for any field missions, so that we can all engage with the process and be confident in the outcomes”.
Germany, speaking for the EU, said the expert mission should be deployed soon, with Australia also supporting a swift investigation.
Meanwhile, Alexandra Dronova, Russia’s deputy health minister, called for an evaluation of the legal and financial repercussions of the Trump administration announcing the U.S. withdrawal from the WHO next July...

We know a couple of folks who had it. One worse than the other. But, isn’t that how it is with everything? We both had something early this year that lingered for about 3 weeks each. Maybe the evil ‘deadly’ cv-19, maybe not.

I know three people directly (nurse (She was in her 30s appear to be healthy), Senior Citizen, and overweight/diabetes) who die from Covid, and plenty of people (relatives) who were infected. Maybe my mother and sisters are lying to me.
I guess it depends on where you live. I live in the country where there are no infections, my relatives live in the city.
I do not know anybody who died from the flu. Only heard of one person die from the flu in my lifetime.
I think the flu numbers are lies to promote the flu shots. I only had the flu as a child once in my life. After watching the Covid numbers being twisted, I am now convince the flu numbers are lies.
I have to wonder if the flu shots causes cancer in other issues in people. Maybe it is by design to limit our lifespan so they do not have to give us SSN later in life. Maybe Covid was release to keep Trump from being re-elected.
Repeat after the WHO, “It’s just the flu, bro.”

Many years ago the video sent me on a path to eventually study complexity in Math, Biology and Finance.
Since March....I’ve known 1 family to get it. The daughter is a corrections officer and brought it home from the prison. She was barely sick. Her 5 yr old daughter ran a slight fever. The 2 boys, no symptoms whatsoever. The mom, who is my friend, never tested positive. And they all live together.
I saw some Trump H8er quoting 11+% fatality rate among those over 70 the other day. Um okee dokee eyensteen. But, they don’t care if they can get one person to buy their line of BS.
Correct me if I am wrong but doesn’t this OFFICIALLY put the mortality rate down around the seasonal flu?

That IFR would be extremely low. That would mean the IFR worldwide is 1/6th of what it is in the US and other western nations (~0.65%). So places like India, Africa, etc. would have to have an IFR vastly lower, which seems wrong.
The estimated infection fatality rate for persons 70-79 years is 5.4%. Persons 80 and older show a roughly 18% fatality rate. Combining those two is misleading at best.
