While lightly redacted, the bureau spreadsheet shows the FBI relied heavily on media reporting to back up claims about Carter Page, Paul Manafort, and others. IG Horowitz faulted the FBI over lack of corroboration + evidence of circular reporting.

(1) Fabricate a report, or watch one's political allies fabricate a report. (2) Leak the fabricated report to a friendly journalist. (3) Use the journalist's story as "confirmation" of the report. (4) Certify the fabrication as verified to the FISA court and use it as the basis for domestic espionage against a political opponent.
Yes. And the media reports on the media report. Then the media reports on that. An so on, and so on.
Circular Reporting. I like that term. Its like a circular reference in computer programming. It spirals and grows until it crashes the computer.

We know it was a big group effort circle-jerk
Nice to see the evidence that vindicates our view

A less wishy-washy way to put this? It was a coup plot against Trump conducted by the FBI and CIA agents involved.
Partner, you hit a homerun with this statement.
To: upchuck
Pardon my ignorance but how does this lead to indictments
It doesn't. What it does is expose Barr and Durham are involved in the coverup. Trump should fire them both and Wray!

... Recently released to Senate investigators Sigh.
And straight to CBSNews.
We can argue that it should have never been classified, but does anyone in DC care that Congressional staffs leak like sieves?

Gill said You dont rely on media reporting. Agreed.
However, this is the same FBI that recently cited ‘Wikipedia’ as a source as well.
Even my kid’s high school teacher wouldn’t let those sources be used in a homework assignment!

And straight to CBSNews.
.......:
Catherine Herridge usually a good source on Faux. Now at CBS maybe they trust that MSM network to wash this better than NBC, CNN, or MSNBC
Just the news also says they are aware of it Id trust John Solomon more at this point to get to the real news in it

High level government officials are like the kingpins of the mafia, they know too much. If they were truly convicted for such high crimes, they would most certainly have to face immediate execution since a sentence would afford them the opportunity to sell such secrets.

IG Horowitz faulted the FBI over lack of corroboration + evidence of circular reporting. The FBI was too busy chasing down white middle class men who attended Church to do their job.

Gotta give Herridge credit for sticking to principles and good journalism.
I was not sure she could stay “strong” in the face of the fake CBS news.
This is “good” news.

Remember Michael Isikoff?
He said the FBI was his source for the Russian Collusion story he ran. He was surprised to learn later that the FBI cited his reporting of that as a source to the FISA court.
I watched the same thing happen in real time after Mueller came up empty handed. The Media ran the Dems Russian propaganda; then the Dems cited their reports as reason to continue to investigate it. Though there was no evidence, they used the term “there’s lots of smoke” as reason to continue to push the narrative.
