Huckabee advises Trump to not focus on Hunter Biden during debate
The Hill ^ | 10/21/20 11:13 AM EDT | BY JOE CONCHA -

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) on Wednesday urged President Trump to not focus on Hunter Biden during the second and final presidential debate, saying it would be "a mistake."

The former GOP presidential candidate argued during an appearance on "Fox & Friends" that "the average person doesn't understand" the "complicated" nature of the story around the younger Biden and how it pertains to his father, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

“Forget about all the distractions of everything except one thing: Remind the American people that it is their lives that really on the mark right now," Huckabee said on Fox News, where he is a contributor.

"But he’s leading with Hunter Biden,” co-host Brian Kilmeade noted, referring to allegations about the younger Biden's business ties that Trump and his allies have raised recently. “Is that a mistake?”

“Yes, it is a mistake,” Huckabee replied. “Because the average person doesn’t understand it. It’s too complicated. And frankly, it doesn’t matter to them."

"They care about their health care costs. They care about their taxes. They care about safety in their neighborhood on their block," he added. "Focus on that, and he wins the election by a landslide."

Trump and Biden will square off in Nashville, Tenn., on Thursday night in their final showdown just 12 days ahead of the Nov. 3 election. The debate is expected to draw more than 70 million viewers.

You can do both, when the topic of the economy is mentioned, all Trump has to do is focus on China and the jobs and factories that have left the USA for China, while doing that mention, Biden has no credibility on dealing with China given all the money his son and the Biden family have made off China....

Basically attack Biden on the economy and national defense by saying he’s not no credibility because he’s been bought off by foreign powers...

Biden is imploding on his own. Witness his idiotic remark that America is “an idea, that we’ve never lived up to.”

Rats are ashamed to be Americans.

Real patriots are proud to be Americans.

What a slap in the face to Trump supporters.

We’re just a bunch of selfish, ignorant, low IQ rubes, eh?

Too “complicated “?

Nope. Pretty simple. They are corrupt, immoral, untrustworthy career politicians who only deserve to be in jail for what they done, like any of the rest of us unconnected to the right people would be if we did half of what they did.. They do NOT deserve to be elected to political office.

Trump doesn’t have to focus on him at all. He only has to say something in the beginning, like “How’s your son, Hunter?”

And then drop it. People will take note.

I’m so sick of “our side”, the likes of Huckabee, Brian Kilmeade, so many of the talking head contributors on Fox, etc. giving their so sage advice to President Trump to once again disarm and not talk about one of the major political scandals in our history involving the Biden crime syndicate. And the head of this crime family, Joe Biden, is running for President and could conceivably (although doubtful) win. And our side wants Trump to unilaterally disarm.

As if it is an either/or choice even. He can do both, talk about the economy, etc. AND talk about his opponent who is basically a criminal and a huge majority of the populace probably know very little about it, if at all. What in heaven’s name is wrong with our side?

No cajones for starters; only Trump/Guliani/Bannon and a few of our Congress critters have any. What a bunch of weak, fraidy cats who aren’t willing to fight, double down, do basically what the Dems have always been willing to do, and that is to fight dirty, while we abide by the King’s rules. What baloney.

BRING UP JOE/HUNTER BIDENS’ CRIMINAL ENTERPRISE TONITE, PRESIDENT TRUMP. Get the word out to the masses. Don’t listen to the advice of the fearful; go with your gut instinct that is invariably correct. Geez, sometimes my side (Pubs) disgust me.

Why would Trump take his advice?

Easier said than done, but he has about 40 min total:
~15 min - Explain the laptop scandal and the evidence (bring props)
~10 min - Rebut the Biden lies about Trump and answer inane moderator questions (“disavow” yet again, etc.)
~15 min - Explain the vision for next term

What a slap in the face to Trump supporters

And a slap in the face to the country. Ignoring this corruption is why we're one election loss away from a socialist victory and a permanent one party state.

“They are corrupt, immoral, untrustworthy career politicians who only deserve to be in jail for what they done”

You are correct, of course.

Yet here we are, in the process of offering one of these naked criminals for election to the office of President.

Trump should show up with handcuffs and Federal Marshals and have Joe hauled off the stage. A simple, “Show’s over, folks.”

I think if they dragged these dirtbags down to Gitmo, along with the doctors that could keep them alive, and produce nice, clear video of HRC, Biden (if he’s able) and the rest of them telling us where the blackmail is and where the list of Swiss bank account numbers is, the American People would accept that criminals have been found and dealt with. It would cut the head off of the snake.

If Trump is doing all he can, and we are compelled to suffer these murderous criminals as our “leaders” then we are in real trouble.

Huckster, this is why your campaign for president was a flop. Raw meat is showing and a finger needs to be shoved in it.

I think he was referring to Americans. Nothing made me think just Trump supporters.

He is a typical elite.

The masses are too dumb to understand.

But he did the right thing at the debates way back when they tried to get him to bash Trump.

And he’s not even near the top of the worst.

But still...people DO care about corruption, not all of them, but they do.

It’s good for independents to know what a crook pop biden is

To some extent I agree...Americans are lovers of the underdog, and I think a lot of them will see Hunter Biden as just a poor, troubled soul if Hunter himself is the focus of the attacks and will probably even tell themselves that his father was trying to help him.

But if Hunter was poor and troubled, it was because of his father’s unscrupulous use of him as a frontman and bagman for his corrupt foreign deals, and I think it’s got to be made clear that the corruption goes to and in fact originates with Joe Biden.

Even Hunter himself expressed his resentment at being the one who had to keep the family business (fraud and corruption) going and share the proceeds with his father. He wrote this in an email to his sister (and probably elsewhere).

As for Hunter’s creepy sex stuff, it’s out there and I don’t think it needs to be a focus. Keep it on Joe’s corruption, which is now abundantly proved.

Frankly, I’d be surprised if Joe shows up.

Trump will do what Trump does best...pummel the opponent...

This shows people that he is truly willing to fight for them...

Mikey’s advice to play nice-nice in debates and campaigns is the reason why we never had either POTUS McCain nor POTUS Romney...

I hope he goes for the Biden jugular and also tells Americans that his accomplishments show the he knows the better way forward...than VP Biden or POTUS Kamala...

“Because the average person doesn’t understand it. It’s too complicated. And frankly, it doesn’t matter to them."

We rubes understand a lot more than (failed presidential candidate) Huckabee thinks we do.

We desire justice, a fundamental instinct.
