I voted for Ted Cruz in the 2016 Republican primary election, left my ballot blank in the 2016 general election, and now must decide whom to vote for this year. In several ways, I find Donald Trump over the top and offensive. I have said this on air and on Twitter. He can be too hot to handle, insulting people and often making himself the issue, diverting attention from more important policy matters. Many of my Republican friends, notably women, will not vote for him, not because they are Republicans in name only but because the president has given them some reason to reject him.

Biden is also offensive. His shocking allegation amid the 2012 campaign that Republicans under Mitt Romney wanted to place African Americans back in chains was one of the worst and lowest race baiting statements ever made, not to mention it was blatantly untrue. The media mainly gave him a pass over this. I will not. There is a lot about his conflicts of interest that we do not know because the media declines to dig into them.
Is Biden, who stated he never talked about Ukrainian energy firm Burisma with his son, lying about never meeting with its officials? Biden lied about receiving his full scholarship to law school and made false claims that he finished in the top half of his class when he finished near the bottom. He lied about his arrest in South Africa. He made false claims over pinning a Silver Star on a Navy captain despite claiming that it was the truth.
Biden is weak. He will not stand up to the left as he changed his positions with abortion and crime. He will not stand up to China. Given the fact that he conducted only one or two public events a day before the coronavirus, I have doubts in his ability to endure the burden of the presidency.
Democrats are now moving hard and fast to the left. Biden is not from the left wing of the party, but when liberals send him legislation to ban fossil fuels, create a national public option for health care, raise our taxes even higher, and redistribute income in a way that has never been done before, no one should count on his veto. He will not promise to veto packing the Supreme Court, or even turning Puerto Rico and the District of Columbia into blue states so Democrats can move onto packing the Senate.
Say what you will about Trump violating norms, he has never tried to redo the balance of power by irregular means. But his policies will last decades, no matter or, perhaps thanks to, his personality. His promises to confront China, appoint conservatives to the judiciary, and secure peace deals for Israel and the Arab neighbors are worthy of support. His policies over the economy did more to assist low income Americans with pay raises, which reduced the wealth gap far more than any idea to redistribute income. He helped people with the actions conducted in the private sector.
My choice in the 2020 general election is between a personally offensive outsider who signs good policies and a professionally offensive politician who will turn bad ideas into law. This is why I will vote for Trump.
Ari Fleischer served as the White House press secretary for President Bush from 2001 to 2003 and is now president for Ari Fleischer Communications.

You got that right.
Supporting Trump is beginning to feel like being a rebel.
Sorta like doing something your mom and dad, the media, your teacher, principle, the movies, sport idols, etc. all told you not to do. They all told you it was bad, but you like it because it’s edgy. It’s like giving the middle finger to the establishment. And, joining a Trump caravan or rally is like a party atmosphere.
Like “Hey, you all telling me not to support the big bad Trump, well here ya go (the bird).”
Fleischer may not be a hardcore conservative, but he was a good spokesman for W in the aftermath of 9-11. Bush’s approval started to plummet after Fleischer was replaced by the execrable and incompetent Scott McLellan.
Though FOX continues to give him face time, nobody cares about his “endorsement”-—he’s best remembered as GW Bush’s facilitating Press Sec, all through the 9-11 farce, and remains a Neo-COn looking for a place he can call home for the next four years, as a Contributor, I suppose. He is completely without interest to almost everybody. An unwelcome presence in my field of vision. Go away, Bushie. On top of that I do believe i remember not so very long ago, some trashing of Trump by him.
He didnt Vote for the Republican Candidate in 2016? What an A Hole.
Oh crap, another lecture from a political hack that has never held an honest job.
Ari is an intellectual idiot. Hillary would be a disaster and Ari is so stupid he could not realize this? In 2016 I voted against Hillary, I am a hard core right wing conservative. I did not vote for Donald Trump. I voted against Hillary. Donald Trumps actions as president have reflected my conservative beliefs. I was surprised. Last Friday I voted in early voting here in Texas and most enthusiastic for President Trump. I would rather drink a beer with Bill Clinton (Trump does not drink) than Donald Trump. Bill is amusing and entertaining. I would not bring my lovely daughter if I had one. I had only boys.
Amen. Bush won a second term and immediately thew his base under the buss. Didn't need them anymore so he tossed them aside and went after one and only one policy initiative: Amnesty. Over and over and over, getting more publicly angry with people like us all the time. He held us in contempt and the feeling became mutual.
Oh, please, he’s just a craven fair weather DC A-hole/Where has he been all this time, anyway? He’s a Bushie trying to reconstruct his career for the next 4 years.

They're not Republicans, Ari.
If they're OK with fanatical partisan Democrat Federal judges running the country from a district courtroom in northern California or Hawaii like they've been doing for the past four years, then they're Democrats.
Because they will be voting FOR those fanatical partisan Democrat Federal judges.
They've come out as Democrats.
Only the judges matter.
This enables Joek to buy more airtime - DIRECTLY benefiting the "news" outlets who are pumping him.
Of course, the "polls" tighten up at the end to preserve the money-making credibility of the fakenews pollsters for next election...
Too little too late Ari Fleischer... I will never ‘hold my nose’ and vote for an Establishment pubbie like McCain or Romney again...ever. I’d vote for Bernie first.
I’m not alone in this either.
>> Ari is an intellectual idiot. Hillary would be a disaster and Ari is so stupid he could not realize this? <<
Does Ari live in one of the dozen or so swing states that could have realistically gone to EITHER of the two major party presidential candidates?
If not, then leaving his ballot blank was irrelevant. The electoral college is winner-take-all in 48 out of 50 states, so "voting Trump" in Massachusetts or casting a ballot for the Hilderbeast in Alabama would accomplish jack squat, and nobody would notice or care how that person voted. Ditto with voting third party, casting a write-in vote, or leaving the presidential slot blank in a safe state.
FReepers seem to love to lecture the left about how the electoral college works, but ignore it themselves when bashing other Republicans.
Still, winning the popular vote makes a difference in getting a mandate.
