The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) says it is experiencing an "unpleasant situation" as social networking site Facebook has deleted the global body's page from its platform without any intimation. This has prompted the ISSF to start a campaign '#unblock_ISSF_facebook'.
Besides Twitter and Instagram, shooters from across the world rely on the ISSF Facebook page for updates from the sport's governing body. The page was created on January 14, 2010. "An unpleasant situation happened yesterday, and Facebook has deleted the ISSF page from the social network without reason or warning," shooting's apex body said in a statement on Thursday. "At the moment, we are looking into what happened and stay with you on the official website, Instagram and Twitter.
"We kindly ask you to support us and show the same activity, which you showed in the mask contest." The ISSF urged the shooting fraternity to come together and show solidarity in its bid to get Facebook to reverse its decision. "We kindly ask you to support usplease use the hashtag #unblock_ISSF_facebook for our support," the ISSF said.
The ISSF is headquartered in Munich. While the reason for shooting down the page is not known, Facebook has a stringent policy on firearms. As per their regulations, the social networking giant prohibits "advertisements promoting the brandishing of firearms".
No explanation.

A website can be had cheaply today. I have one just to do email that is not reliant on any ISP, with my full control.
best thing to do is what i did after the Floyd riots—just DELETE your facebook account.

dont give them the pageviews, dont give their advertisers the $$, and dont give them your posts. just like there are no conservatives on DU, let facebook be a liberal wonderland without you

The FB, Twitter, Google logos should be shunned as though they were swastikas. And those who attach such logos to their websites or storefronts should be treated the same as those who would wear swastikas on their clothing.

If, for some very disappointing reason, Trump doesn’t prevail, I have an idea for a new business for him: create an actual free social media site that allows the free expression of thought and speech and even *gasp* the discussion of firearms.
In other words, a site that protects Americans’ rights under the Constitution.

It is breathtaking when you realize that Fackbook it the beginning, middle and end of the Internet for millions. They know nothing else.
I hope everyone here has seen “The Social Dilemma”, has accounts on Gab, Parler, and Bitchute, and also throws these companies a few shekels every now and then. We are not going to have an Internet that serves us until we start paying for it. Just a buck a month to Gab or MeWe or whoever will keep them afloat with lots of cash so they can concentrate on serving users, not marketing them.
Fascistbook has harvested vast amounts of facial recognition data from willing users clicking yes on "Is this you?" and "Is this your friend Mary?".
How does one app know what you were shopping for on a different app? How do the ads on various apps match your sex and age?

Remember that websites have also been deplatformed. The Daily Stormer was the test dummy—easy to justify since they are Nazis. They’re stuck using some foreign registrar. After that they deplatformed lifesite news, a mainstream Christian website, for a little while, until they found a new registrar. I fully expect Gab, Parler, Bitchute and others to have to go through the same process, and probably a worse process, as they’ll likely also lose access to essential services—such as those services that block Ddos attacks, or even things like processing credit cards, which has happened to very many people already.
First they came for the Nazis, and we didn’t say anything because of muh libertarian free market. And now, here we are.
Already on Parler and uninstalled Twitter.

I keep an interest in Facebook really only because of interests in local history, vintage hockey, and classic Hollywood. I am not into sharing what I had for breakfast, whom I voted for, etc.

Download Tor now, subscribe to a good VPN service, and get a shortwave radio. 7490 and 9330 are good freqs to monitor. If you have a radio with SSB, listen to the ham bands. Also the freqs around 6950. The pirates will be active, too.
Gab already went through the registrar thing. Let me tell you, Andrew Torba is a warrior’s warrior. He can be irascible, but he will not stop. He has been demonitized, deplatformed, and deregistered, but he is still there running his own servers, and collecting checks by US mail, bigger and better than ever. Fu*k FR on Facebook. We need a Gab page.
