The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) says it is experiencing an "unpleasant situation" as social networking site Facebook has deleted the global body's page from its platform without any intimation. The Bots actually respond like a live Adversary For the gun enthusiasts that want more out of just shooting at paper targets or moving targets. How about moving robot targets that moves autonomously? Enter Robotic Human-Type Targets from Australia's Marathon Targets, they're basically dummy mannequins on wheels with a computer embedded. The bots can be programmed to various scenario whether the bots is hit or not. The idea is to deploy human-looking dummies that can "look, move, and behave like people," with a degree of networked autonomy. For example, when one bot goes down in a hail of gunfire, the...

The .700 WTF rifle is a beautiful example of power and engineering. This newly built rifle is shot for the first time, from the shoulder, with a monstrous cartridge. The bullets weigh 1132 grains each and have a diameter of .700 caliber, and the cartridge can be loaded up to 2,300 feet per second. It can spit out a slug traveling 1600-1800 fps. All of these details make it a monster on par with elephant guns. Shooting the rifle without the muzzle break would generate 150 feet per pound of recoil on the shooter's shoulder. We would love to take...

Complaining or simply beating up on yourself about a shot you missed last fall is not going to solve your problem. June is here, and with it are those long, lazy, mild late spring and early summer evenings that you can spend at the range, and if you’re lucky, you’ll bump into old pals and enjoy some therapeutic conversation and trigger time. Making excuses for not being able to take this time seems to be a favorite pastime of people determined to become vegetarians and just go camping with guns in the fall. For the rest of us, however, putting...

One of the shots hit a junk car in his yard and must've ricocheted and struck the (container) that contained $80,000 worth of fireworks. . . . He knew the container was there, he knew the container contained fireworks, he accepts responsibility. But we don't think the insurance will cover it, because it happened on business property and shooting a gun at 1 in the morning has nothing whatever to do with his business of auto wrecking . . . .

JULY 2---The largest wildfire burning in Arizona was started during a bachelor party when one shotgun-toting celebrant fired a shell that promises to shoot “100 feet of fire, setting everything in its path ablaze,” The Smoking Gun has learned. The group--all in their mid-20s--traveled from Mesa to the Sycamore Creek area for a weekend “campout and bachelor party,” according to court records. On Saturday, May...

“I have learned to live with trash,” said fifth-generation Arizona rancher Jim Chilton. He saw his once-beautiful ranch, just a few miles from the border with Mexico, is now dotted with clusters of crushed trees and cactus, whole hillsides have been turned into charred eyesores, years worth of his award-winning conservation projects obliterated — and the whole thing is littered with trash, tons and tons of trash. And some of the trash was dead bodies. Chilton had the misfortune of settling in the path of what would become a dangerous drug- and human-smuggling route on the U.S.-Mexican border, parallel with the...

I know that vanities are frowned upon, so I shall make this brief. Is there an airgun ping list? If so, who is the keeper, and if not, can one be started? In addition, perhaps some airgunning FReepers could chime in on the sport.
