Toilet paper shelves again left bare, as grocery store shoppers worry about Washington restrictions

In announcing new statewide restrictions aimed at reducing the spike in COVID-19 cases, Gov. Jay Inslee on Sunday urged people not to hoard “supplies.”

“Buying up everything really hurts everybody,” Inslee said, “and there’s no necessity of it right now.”

But while the man didn’t specifically call out toilet paper, the toilet paper sure did call to shoppers.

At some Seattle stores on Sunday, in a throwback to earlier days of the pandemic, people were already buying up stacks of bathroom tissue, which seems to turn to spun gold when things look grim.

Costco ran out of the stuff over the weekend, and there was none to be found Sunday at the Safeway on Madison Street in Seattle, or the QFC on Rainier Avenue South

Who isn’t already sitting on a year’s supply of TP?

Prepper ping.

I’ve been prepping all year and don’t plan on stopping now.

It’s going to continue until I cannot any more.

Hopefully folks will video the first takeover of some governor’s mansion with the subsequent hanging of the DEMOCRAT sob.

We know that the slime-media will suppress it, but we will obtain much joy from the multiple watchings.

Enough is enough.

Just got a 12-pack of the good stuff. No more 1000-sheet $1 rolls of el cheapo deluxe for this fine boy! It’s not thumbproof! :)

Darn stupid Americans. The run on TP in the face of what they thought was a deadly virus should have been our first clue that they’d vote for a retarded old man.

I bought mine months ago. Some people just can't get into buying 12-24 rolls at a time. I've been doing it for years.

Same with soap, wipes and shampoo.

And here in Upstate where winter roars its icy breath...I stock up plenty of food....so I don't have to carry it in the cold and snow. My parents taught me and I've followed their lead all my life.

“œBuying up everything really hurts everybody,” Inslee said, “and there’s no necessity of it right now.”

BS. It hurts nobody because the supply chain can keep up.

People will not be out panic buying, stripping the shelves bare. THAT is what hurts people.

Same ignorant mentality we used to see with gas lines years ago, people lining up for miles in their cars to buy a few gallons of gas to top off their tanks.

Inslee creates a panic and then tells people not to panic. What an effing genius.

They elected the POS. They get to live with it. Non-liberals can leave. I left California for similar reasons in 1982. And, no, I’ve never voted for a RAT up here either.

There was actually a very obvious reason for the toilet paper shortage during the first lock down.

Every day, millions of people use the bathroom at work, or at restaurants and bars, or at public facilities, or at the homes of their family or friends.

Suddenly, people were doing 100% of their bathroom business at home, which caused a huge disruption in the normal market distribution of toilet paper.

A couple of years ago, when I was working at Home Depot, I bought a dozen large packages of Charmin which had been marked down to a ridiculous price. All my fellow associates were laughing at me.

Who's laughing now, bitches?

It’s like second nature in Upstate NY.

Nevertheless, I am still amazed at the number of idiots who wait until we’re in the teeth of a nor’easter or lake effect event, to head to the store and strip the shelves bare.

It’s not like those storms ever snuck up on NY. The weather reports for days would be warning about it, and people STILL waited until the last minute.
