WASHINGTON - A subpoena seeking documents from Hunter Biden asked for information related to more than two dozen entities, including Ukraine gas company Burisma, according to a person familiar with a Justice Department tax investigation of President-elect Joe Biden’s son.
The breadth of the subpoena, issued Tuesday, underscores the wide-angle lens prosecutors are taking as they examine the younger Biden’s finances and international business ventures.
In addition to the Burisma-related request, the subpoena issued last week also seeks information on Hunter Biden’s Chinese business dealings and other financial transactions.
The probe was launched in 2018, the year before his father announced his candidacy for president. At one point in the investigation, federal prosecutors were also examining potential money laundering offenses, two people familiar with the matter told the AP.
Hunter Biden said he only learned of the investigation on Tuesday.
The president-elect is not believed to be a focus of the investigation. He has not weighed in on the merits of the investigation, saying only to reporters on Friday that he was “proud of my son.”
For months, the U.S. attorney’s office in Pittsburgh has also been collecting information from Trump’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and others as part of the Justice Department’s process to receive and analyze information related to Ukraine, including documents Giuliani wanted to present to prosecutors that he had been gathering in Ukraine about Joe and Hunter Biden.

[Ukraine’s anti-corruption prosecutor Nazar] Kholodnitsky and the head of the national anti-corruption bureau, Artem Sytnik, said the bribe was intended to encourage their offices to halt a probe of Mykola Zlochevsky, the head of Burisma and a former minister of ecology. Zlochevsky was accused of using his ministerial position for personal enrichment.
Three people, including a high-ranking tax service official, have been detained in connection with the attempted bribe, officials said Saturday.
In a statement, Burisma claimed the company had nothing to do with any bribe attempt.
“Neither Burisma Group President Mykola Zlochevsky nor other employees of the company have any relationship to the voiced events,” the company said. “Mykola Zlochevsky didn’t ask for anyone to commit wrong actions and never contributed to such actions.”

That’s a lot of leverage foreign govt's have over US policy under the bought and paid for Joe Biden.
Hunter held titled jobs for which he was unqualified, pocketing humongous salaries w/ a percentage for Dad.
Sen Joe passed laws that helped his son's employers, while bribery laws were handily bypassed.
Next came Ukraine, Russia, and China since VP Joe Biden was Obama’s point man for US policy in those countries.
Joe Biden was likely to run for president again, so blanketing Hunter w/ money was the MO to keep Joe Biden happy and always grinning....just as soon as the checks cleared.
FBI Director Wray is busy whitewashing this.

Yeah, I’m sure the CIA, FBI was sure to brief the President about Biden candidate as a possible national security threat for bribery from China/Ukraine/Russia and then FBI/CIA was given the OK to get a FISA Warrant to spy and in addition prepare a dossier, an undercover sting/spy operation which included “unmasking” all the people associated with Biden and his campaign people. I know for sure they were going to raid their houses in the middle of night with 20 camera’s/news stations given a heads up for the big raid.
Barr knew about all of it back in early spring. Yet, never briefed the President that Biden could be a national security risk due to his son. CIA/FBI no one briefed the President during an election year or even prior to election year like they all did with candidate Trump, his family, his campaign, etc.
Barr is loyal to the swamp and nothing else. He loses everything when Trump leaves.
