Yes, it IS the solution.
The details would be the problem!

The country has just experience a coup. What is happening now is that the new leaders representing the victorious force (China) are preparing to take office.

We don't have any idea what comes next, but be assured, fixing the schools is no longer an option.

More likely the schools will be replaced with re-education camps for recalcitrant adults...and boxcars to the ovens for those unwilling to be re-educated.

Those who think it will be an amicable divorce are dreaming. It will be violent since the Left can not stand losing power. The Left saw the possibility of losing power in 2016, and was already resorting to violence well before the election. Of course it was all blamed on the “Deplorables”, the gaslighting led by Obama and Hillary.

The author’s statement about living under a socialist, one-party state is how it is going to be unless this is reversed. And, it will not be for two years (mid-term election) or four years (next general election). If they have stolen this election from right under our noses why would anyone believe it will not happen forever.

Think Hugo Chavez! After almost 15 years the only thing that took him out was death! Even then his replacement was just as bad. Or better yet, Joseph Stalin who ruled for 33 years, and death got him as well. There are many others that were (and are) just as bad.

We are clearly headed for autocratic control. Face diapers, lockdowns and propaganda are just the beginning!

Empires never last without a strong military to hold them together. The genius of the American system was federalism, which allowed America to be a collection of fairly independent states rather than an empire.

With technology and the powerlust of the left at work, increasingly state governments are forgotten. People across thousands of miles and unique and very different regions with contradictory values and notions of government are struggling for control of one central, all-powerful government.

With that in mind, it is not a matter of “if” but “when”.

In the civil war, it was one big issue. Now there are hundreds. Guns, abortion, taxes, and ultimately, how much control do others have in your life? Some want their lives managed and every need supplied. Others don’t want to see the smoke from their neighbors chimney.

You can’t govern three hundred million people across thousands of miles like they are a county. The left will never accept that calculus. Even if democrats never act on the issues, they must campaign on them and that is enough to both scare and inflame.

> Buckley argues that since the stakes “have been lowered” significantly since the 1860s when secession meant the literal continued enslavement of millions, such a measure indeed could be a “reasonable way to resolve unbridgeable partisan differences.”

I could not disagree more.

Not splitting away means the subjugation of at least 150 million to a global oligarchy that openly wants "womb to to tomb" control.

Absolute control over others has always been the goal of those in power since the before dawn of mankind.

How could it not be? Either we subjugate them or they subjugate us otherwise.
