A child rape victim has accused nuns at a now-shuttered Catholic children’s home in Germany of “pimping” out orphans to priests, politicians and other wealthy men.
The victim, now 63, has remained anonymous despite having fought and won a legal battle for compensation in May over the horrors they endured, beginning at 5 years old in March 1963.
The man, who has struggled with post-traumatic stress disorder and depression since then, was awarded a total of 25,000 euros by German courts due to claims he’d been raped more than 1,000 times.
He also said he wasn’t the only victim.
The case was only recently addressed in public for the first time, when Germany’s Bishop of Speyer, Karl-Heinz Wiesemann, spoke out about former diocese official Rudolf Motzenbäcker, who was named as an abuser in the case. Motzenbäcker died in 1998.
As part of his spiritual discipline, the unnamed victim said he was beaten and “literally dragged” by nuns to Motzenbäcker’s home where he was routinely sexually abused, he told Der Spiegel magazine, according to the Times of London. The former altar boy at Speyer Cathedral was also plucked from the home to appear at “sex parties,” facilitated by nuns on behalf of clergyman and the local elite.
“The nuns were pimps,” he said in court testimony.
“There was a room where the nuns served drinks and food to the men and in the other corner the children were raped,” court records read, according to German news agency KNA. “The nuns earned money. The men present donated generously.”
“Sometimes I would run back to the home in blood-smeared clothes, the blood ran down my legs,” he said. “Before I left in September 1972, I had been sexually abused about a thousand times.”

A Church that is rotten to the core.
Hmmmm. Obviously sexual abuse is a real thing, but, at the same time, anyone can say anything... especially about events that happened 57 year ago. This particular story of nuns essentially arranging sexual abuse orgies seems pretty far-fetched. Not saying that it didn’t happen, but not automatically buying this one.
But people still fill the collection baskets.

Maybe they are unaware of what goes on.
The evidence was obviously strong enough for a court to decide in his favour. Generally you have to prove that something happened in order for a court to do that.
You can’t assume that. This article doesn’t say. It’s possible that there’s no evidence other than this one man’s word. Look at the Cardinal Pell case in Australia. Pell was convicted based on the absurd, extraordinarily unlikely testimony on one accuser... yet a jury bought it... and so did 2 out 3 judges on the initial appeal.

I agree with your thoughtful analysis.
It is possible that nuns were complicit..knowingly oy unknowingly..however since that awful case some years ago where the owners of a daycare facility were convicted falsely over children’s reports of abuse i am always skeptical.
I cant remember name of that story..but the children were coached by interviewers

Many, many good people make up the Catholic Church. Unfortunately they are like democrats, once in a position of power they become evil. Communist Pope Francis in particular, all the way down to those participating in child molestation.
By coincidence many of our country’s top dems (Pelosi, Biden, etc) claim to be Catholic and are pure evil at the same time.
The story has a Kavenaugh “rape train” feel to it.
All of the evils of Sodom and Gomorrah happen daily in our world yet God doesn’t deliver the same fate.

It is no church, no body of cpChrist nor representative of Christ on the earth.
Calling it a religion would be more accurate.

The problem is, these reports of sexual abuse and impropriety have followed Catholicism throughout its history and around the globe and virtually all of them follow a common thread.
That many reports of sexual abuse in so many different areas during so many different times is beyond a conspiracy theory to make Catholicism look back.
Something is very rotten in the religion and the Vatican for such common threads to run through it for so long.
AMEN! And, unlike other religions where the accused is reported to the police and prosecuted, the Catholic church covers it up and moves the accused to another parish where they can continue their abuse.
Complete violations of Biblical principles and teaching on so many levels.
God has something to say about taking His name in vain and it doesn’t mean simply using His name as a swear word.
Wow. I mean, I know there was a case here in the UK of a guy who was going around accusing politicians and public figures from the 1970s of all kinds of deranged paedophilianc deviancy towards him. Turns out it was nonsense, and he was jailed for perverting the course of justice for an unprecendented 18 years (aggravated by the fact he was a paedophile himself who had made indecent images of children).
Still, at least his victims were never charged, never mind convicted before he was found out. Although one of Thatcher’s cabinet minsters Lord Brittan, died whilst still under investigation and never lived to see his name cleared. WWII veteran and former head of the army Lord Brammel did live to see his name cleared, but it must have been distressing at his age having to contend with that.
