Los Angeles area hospitals are at a breaking point due to the coronavirus pandemic in Southern California, where the mounting death toll has overwhelmed intensive care units and led to contingency plans for possibly rationing care.
Though coronavirus hospitalizations are stabilizing in parts of California, patients are still overwhelming hospitals in a large swath of the state, leading California Gov. Gavin Newsom to warn that the state must brace for the effect of a “surge on top of a surge” from recent holiday travel.

I mean the floor must be littered with bodies...
The President will build you a field hospital in 20 minutes. But you’d rather have the panic to keep the power of shutting everything down.
and even in non china flu yrs, hospitals will sometimes "divert" patients to other hospitals...
I don’t know. The mask does do a good job of hiding my extra chins. Other than that, not much.
Why didn’t they ask for a hospital ship for non-coved cases or a field hospital if they thought it was going to be a problem? Shows you they have no idea what they are doing and just keep doing the same lock down and mask BS over and over.
Have they had to bring in the refrigerated trailers yet and park them in a conspicuous spot for good measure?
What a colossal lie...plenty of room to conduct dance videos in the hallways and rooms...
Why so many hospitalizations? Obesity? Elder care facilities overwhelmed by cases? No one gives an explanation that I’ve read. Ventura county’s latest deaths are mostly, if not all, elderly or with co-morbidities.
If so short handed and short of space, why not ask for assistance, once again, from the White House. POTUS Trump made certain a medical ship was at hand months before. Just as he helped New York with a ship and set up medical tents to serve the ill.
Two conclusions after reading this article:
1. Newsom, too ashamed after blowing the last emergency, is unable to bring himself to ask for Trump’s assistance.
2. Nothing but BS; We are aware that Newsom has no possibility of owning any shame (it runs in the family genes).

Since when did all of southern California become the “Los Angeles area”???
The area of “Southern California” is 56,505 square miles.
The area of Los Angels is only 505 square miles and even the area of Los Angeles county is just 4,753 square miles. Either one is but a small fraction of all of Southern California, yet I imagine that lumping Los Angeles or even Los Angeles county data into data for all of Southern California makes Southern California outside of Los Angeles and outside Los Angeles county look worse than they really are.

How many LA hospital beds are occupied by illegal aliens?
Because they are coming here by the busload from Mexico to get “Free” treatment..that is the reason for the spike in cases, not restaurants, not bars, but from open borders
If they just got rid of all illegals in the hospitals, they’d have plenty of room.
I can’t wait to see what the fallout will be of this new 10 year asset tax California is cooking up. It would surely work on those living in California, sadly, but it sure shouldn’t follow them when they leave.
Illegals are crowding the hospitals, most likely.
