Have been in a near trample death situation where calmer heads stopped the mob panic. Fortunately there was no smoke. If the crowd pushes you it is impossible to stop them.

This is a political disaster of the higher order. The fallout will continue for years. It was a stupid stunt.

I don’t know what the reasoning was behind Trump asking the crowd to march on the Capitol if he wasn’t going to be there waiting for them. Especially knowing Antifa would be there. I’m not blaming anyone but if anyone looks at this rationally (which they aren’t doing by any stretch of the imagination on thedonald.win - scary stuff going on there) what would the purpose of flooding the Capitol with protestors be? I wish Trump would tell us what he thought was going to happen.

Yes a few dozen Antifa/anarchists could easily trample a citizen — they break lots of other laws all the time.
Remember the demlefty media made these scum ‘heroic protesters’ as they burned buildings/looted/assaulst/riots....

Of course large crowds gather a life of their own and emotions run very high. I’m not certain there was much thought given to consequences when it was decided to go in.
God knows there are some crazies on the right- the left doesn’t have all the nuts. How it devolved into such chaos is a guessing game.

Those days are over; watching Premier League matches (before the ChiCom flu) you would have thought they were playing in front of crowds of cardboard cutouts. No booze, files of cops in the aisles - very tame. I think any violence (if there is any) is outside and in the pubs.
What is driving a lot of the ranting (about impeachment, 25th amendment, resignation) is that this is going to be a historic transition; the outgoing president has not conceded that he lost the election, he will not be present at the inauguration of the incoming SELECTED “president”, and who knows what competing event he would host as it occurs? Silencing him addresses the last point; now to explain for posterity the other two, they will simply record him as “insane” for the history books.
