Over the weekend, Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) announced that he was “deeply concerned” with Joe Biden’s cabinet nominee for the Department of the Interior, Rep. Deb Haaland (D-NM). He vowed to block Haaland’s nomination if his needs were not addressed.
Daines’ statement following his conversation with Haaland reads as follows:
“After our conversation, I’m deeply concerned with the Congresswoman’s support on several radical issues that will hurt Montana, our way of life, our jobs and rural America, including her support for the Green New Deal and President Biden’s oil and gas moratorium, as well as her opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline. I am also concerned by the responses I received about the role of the Department and lack of appreciation for issues that impact Montana such as wildlife management and hunting and sportsman access. I’m not convinced the Congresswoman can divorce her radical views and represent what’s best for Montana and all stakeholders in the West. Unless my concerns are addressed, I will block her confirmation.”
Sen. Daines’ objection to Haaland’s radical policies ... will complicate [confirmation by requiring] the Senate to forward her through the cloture process, a more cumbersome path.
Daines’ concerns come after shouts against Haaland from New Mexico and, the state she claims to represent, and around the nation opposing her nomination. Pro-energy group Power the Future wrote in a statement, “It’s no surprise to the Senator and others raise serious concerns about the extreme positions of Congresswoman Haaland. Leaders in her home state of New Mexico may turn a blind eye to her radical ideas, but those who fight for our nation’s energy workers know there is too much at stake for our nation. There is no doubt Deb Haaland would be the most radical Interior Secretary in the history of our country”

Also, she characterized BLM and Antifa rioting as "peaceful protests," has lied about not missing US House of Representatives votes, and falsely claimed President Trump called COVID-19 a “Democrat hoax.”
Though not quoted in this article, Montana's other Senator, Democrat Jon Tester, has expressed concern about cancellation of the Keystone XL Pipeline but I don't know his views on her nomination.
A drunk and a doper. Not the slightest experience in the field. Her SOLE qualification is being an Indian and a female.
Did Daines vote to accept the EC “results”?
Off topic: Senate votes 56 to 44 that Trump’s trial is constitutional. The trial will proceed. Senate now in recess.
Steve Daines did not object to fraudulent Electoral College results submitted as true.
He is illegitimate and does not represent anyone.
Hes deeply concerned, OOOOOOOO....He just may put his tail between his legs and run when the rats come for him
However, if you do pray for help with surviving the communist regime, be sure to do it alone, silently, and tell absolutely no one... Especially your own family or friends... Snitches are on the march everywhere...
Since the Republicans are in the minority then how can Daines block the nomination? A majority vote in committee sends it to the floor, and a majority vote there confirms her.
There is a process where a senator can put a “hold” on the nomination, but I don’t know details.

Not watching or reading the FR thread (BP high enough) so the six senators who voted to move forward, besides Romney, Collins and Murkowski, were who?
They used to be able to do that to judges, but that went by the wayside during the Trump years. I thought that McConnell has basically done away with the ability for the minority to block a nomination from advancing.

Daines is not even a legitimate Senator.
I don’t care what a fake Senator does vis-a-vis a cabinet nominee for a fake administration.
Do tell, what about Daines makes him a ‘Fake Senator’?
What’s the issue with his legitimacy?
“Do tell, what about Daines makes him a ‘Fake Senator’?”
He endorsed the fraudulent Electoral Vollege results.
So do tell your own haughty self.
Daines certified the fake election results submitted by the Electoral
College.
Wuh?
Well, hold your own election, and you can be the only dumbarse in the party!
If anyone is illegitimate it’s almost certainly you.
I have it on good authority that your ma was actually Joyce’s nurse...you know the one from whom he learned all the rules of the gamest of games.
Heheheheh...she got around, that one!
