David Perdue Files for Potential 2022 Senate Run against Raphael Warnock
Forbes ^ | 15 February 2021 | Allison Durkee

Former Sen. David Perdue filed paperwork Monday to run against Sen. Raphael Warnock in 2022, after Democratic challenger Jon Ossoff narrowly defeated him in Georgia’s January runoff elections. Former Senator David Perdue at Georgia runoffs rally Senator David Perdue speaks at a campaign event on December 17, 2020 in Columbus, Georgia.

Perdue’s paperwork with the Federal Elections Commission notes his candidacy in the Senate race, and designated his political committee Perdue for Senate to be used for the 2022 election cycle. Anonymous sources close to Perdue told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution the ex-senator had not made a final decision on whether or not to run, but is “leaning heavily towards it” and will likely make up his mind in the coming weeks.

Perdue’s former Senate seat won’t come up for reelection until 2026, but Warnock will run again in 2022 because he was elected to only finish out the term of former Sen. Johnny Isakson, who resigned in 2019 due to health concerns.

The Journal-Constitution reports Kelly Loeffler has considered running again against Warnock after he defeated her in January, as well as former Rep. Doug Collins, who also ran for Warnock’s Senate seat but did not make the runoffs. Perdue’s campaign sent a text message to supporters Monday night asking for donations and saying he was “considering” a 2022 Senate run.

I prefer Doug Collins, but Purdue was a good senator and didn’t deserve to get smeared by the stink that was Kelly Loeffler.

My preference is ONE candidate. Whoever wins the primary is the ONLY one on the ballot. Georgia had a stupid general election in November having TWO candidates on the ballot on the Republican side. How idiotic was that decision. Had we only had one, the Senate would be 51-49.

How about Collins for Governor and Marjorie for Senator.

Very concerned about having a MAGA force in Atlanta going forward to bring Georgia back into the Red column.

BTW, we need some major help out in Phoenix to avert that state from completely slipping away.

What exactly did he accomplish the first time? Losers need to step aside. It’s like asking McSally if she can lose another senate seat.

We’ll know whether to support him when Mitch McConnell weighs in.

One race was for the 2-year term (the special election with Loeffler as the appointee) was an all-party primary in which the top two candidates went to a runoff. The other was for the regular 6-year term (Perdue as incumbent).

Perdue actually won on Election Night (as did Trump), but massive voter fraud brought down his numbers below 50%, which forced Perdue to a runoff, which we knew would be stolen in January (and was).

Collins should’ve been the Senate nominee instead of Loeffler, but he failed to defeat her. I expect he similarly would’ve had the seat stolen from him. I think either Marjorie for Senate and/or Vernon Jones should run for those two offices.

I am aware of the two races, but the Perdue race had another Republican in it and took votes away from Perdue. That was what I mean by stupid. Had the extra votes not gone to the other Republican, Perdue would have won that night regardless of cheating.

Piss on Perdue! He is like McConnell. Come on Collins! Get into the race....even though dominion machines will steal it away from him!

Kemp is toast. He won’t survive a primary.

The entire GA (fake) GOP statewide ticket is a corrupt malignant cancer and must be taken out in the primary. From Governor, Lt Governor, Sec of State, Attorney General, etc. Need pro-Trump candidates across the board.

I know he didn’t bring up immigration reform like they will be this week. I know he didn’t bring up pro-abortion legislation. I know he didn’t vote against any judges Trump put forth. Perhaps he didn’t personally put any legislation forward, but he did vote on everything in Trump’s agenda to the positive.
