All told, seven people died in connection with the U.S. Capitol riot on Jan. 6. But only Ashli Babbitt’s death was directly caused by violence that day. She was a rioter killed by a Capitol Police officer, who fired the only shot by any person during the 4½-hour siege. Yet the story of who he is and why he opened fire remains shrouded in mystery.
More than six weeks after Babbitt succumbed to a single gunshot wound to the upper chest, authorities are keeping secret the identity of the officer who fired the fatal round. They won’t release his name, and the major news media aren’t clamoring for it, in stark contrast to other high-profile police shootings of unarmed civilians.
The secrecy has fueled Internet reports misidentifying the shooter as a Capitol Police special agent previously commended by President Trump for bravery. The false rumors have triggered threats against the officer.

This site has real been, over the years a place where people can take a look at the evidence and evaluate it.
If you are suggesting that the evidence of the shooting adds up either, you are disingenuous or you havent watched the video of the shooting. Either way you are way over your ski tips.
I have seen the video and have no problem with her being shot (I wish she had not died). I personally think the Capitol police should have opened fire and shot everyone of those rioters who entered the Capitol and attacked the police.
I have my eyes wide open. I voted Trump twice because I supported his policies while recognizing that he was an asshole. I am glad he is gone and I hope he stays gone.
And I don’t ski so find another overused phrase to throw at me
Didn’t see the video; suspect passage through neck would depend on the bullet. A hollow point, e.g., likely would have mushroomed and stayed. But I wonder if you’re suggesting the shooter was concerned about possible collateral damage beyond the target. I doubt it, but just a personal bias. One willing to shoot into a crowd isn’t concerned with such minutiae.
It was staged.
Yep, you can trust your gubmint.
So, what’s next?
You’ve seen the video compiled by Wooz News? Quite a bit of detail.
