In light of the news that teachers will not be eligible to receive the vaccine, some first responders are wondering when it will be there time.
"We're an afterthought." states Dave Kennedy, President of the PA State Troopers Association.
Kennedy was incredibly disappointed when he heard today's announcement. EMT's can receive the vaccine, nurses, doctors, now teachers, he says, BUT not law enforcement...
"It's a no brainer. There's over 4,500 of us. Over 700 of us have already been infected."
Since the Pandemic began, at least three stations have had to shut down Kennedy says.
"Other stations in the troop have to cover those areas. Areas they're not familiar with. It delays our response time."

"Our brothers and sisters in the corrections officer's union. It's insane how bad that plague is hitting our institutions."
Just last week the Camp Hill State Correctional Institution had a massive outbreak.

Some people want to get this experimental vaccine. That’s their choice. Why teacher should have it available to them before LEO’s is strange.
I’m not ready to support LEOs for everything they do, although I do have to thank that nice trooper in Connecticut who only gave me a warning. It was the only speeding infraction I ever got. Apparently I passed the guy. LOL I’m not going to tell you how fast I was driving.

I just hope the cops remember this when the leadership begins to demand that revenues be raised by writing tickets for any and all infractions. In Illinois some years ago, I got pulled over for going 5 mph over the speed limit. I went up one side and down the other of the cop about how it was a cheap pinch, and he claimed there was pressure from the city to write tickets for 1 - 5 mph over the limit. Needless to say, I wrote the city paper, and told my story and quoted exactly which politician had put the full court press on the cops. He resigned after the next monthly meeting. When I went to court on the ticket, the judge dismissed it. Back when there was justice in this country.
The cops can push back, and should on the governor, as they should be in the same level as doctors and nurses.
I wanted to correct misconceptions about this vaccines use of mRNA (messenger RNA). It does not, in any way interfere with your DNA. Viruses cause our bodies to produce antibodies of many different stripes, much as a series of keys, to attack viruses. When a particular antibodies’ “key” fits the “lock” of the virus, it opens the lock of the virus, and releases a cheical signal to the body that it has had success in entering and disrupting the virus. this chemical messenger is mRNA. That particular antibody produces a fragment of mRNA, which is the chemical signal to the immune system to begin mass producing that particular antibody.
In the past, vaccines have used either killed, or in some cases, live but weakened copies of a targeted virus, to cause the bodies immune system to begin the trial and error process of producing antibodies (keys), until our body gets the chemical signal that it has produced the correct antibody “key”, at which point, tge immune system begins mass production of the antibodies necessary to protect us from a more virulent strain of a targeted virus.
The beauty of these new mRNA vaccines is that they have bypassed the trial and error process of having our body search until finding the antibody, and creating mRNA. Instead, they are innoculating us with the correct mRNA which will cause our bodies to immediately go into mass production of the correct antibodies, saving much time, and lives. To say this will disrupt people’s DNA, and such, is irresponsible, to say the least. It is a quantum leap in virology, and is virtually as miraculous as the invention/discovery of antibiotics.
Now minorities in Pennsylvania are demanding that they get vaccine distribution centers in their neighborhoods. “Equity” is being introduced into the distribution calculations the state is making.
Thirty-year-old teachers now get first dibs on the Johnson and Johnson vaccine. How likely are they to sicken and die of COVID? The PA National Guard is going to be assisting in the vaccination process says the idiot governor Wolf. Want to be sure to vaccinate those teachers who are going to catch virus from the little kids. And, of course, we don’t want teachers giving it to the little darlings, either.
Meanwhile, the elderly are at the end of the line. Wolf killed thousands of them when he returned COVID-infected patients to nursing homes. He must want to finish off the rest of us who pay the exorbitant property taxes that fund schools in Pennsylvania and set teachers up with well-paying jobs and guaranteed government pensions.
