Useful Idiots: 'Pro-Life Evangelicals' for Biden
Townhall.com ^ | March 9, 2021 | Kevin McCullough

In the 2020 elections, a group of self-deceived “evangelicals” became stooges for one of the grossest lies in political history.

Today—in an attempt to save face—they made themselves all the more shameful by attempting to justify in retrospect a decision that anyone could have told them was foolish from the start.

Not merely content with playing the rubes in 2020 they have a website that is still actively “recruiting” members even now.

The best advice they could be given is to simply stop. Stop talking. Stop allowing themselves to be made the fools. And to stop casting their pearls before swine. They have injured their own reputations. They have injured the witness of the evangelical church. They have actively contributed to the advancement of child-killing. And they have dragged the name of Christ through the deaths of those kids, all while pursuing their foolish ends.

Simply put the “pro-life evangelicals for Biden” are now claiming that they have been excluded from the equation as it pertains to the Biden administration’s policies towards the preborn. But what naves they were to believe they would be included to begin with.

The names of the founding members of the group reads like a list of cast-offs. Heretics in most respects and people who have abandoned the claim of scripture being their final authority.

They were given an outsized amount of recognition when they came into the 2020 election process, and like so many foolish people, they believed their own press. The average churchgoer doesn’t know who even half of the founding members are.

They were either deceived or delusional to believe that the Biden team would ever include them. All any reasonable person had to do was to compare Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’ record on abortion (the most aggressive in American history—pushing for as much as the legalization of post-birth infanticide) vs. the easily documentable record of the Trump administration (the unquestionably most pro-life of any since Roe vs. Wade).

They were also woefully ineffective. Whatever partnership Team Biden made with them, it was a raw deal for Biden from the get-go. Why? Because more evangelicals voted for Donald Trump than any president in the history of the nation. Evangelicals – while having certain indigestion with some of President Trump’s tweets and tone from time to time — had zero reservations about his defense of the unborn. Trump rolled back tax-payer funding for abortion in every way he was capable of doing. He added 300 pro-life originalist judges to the federal bench. And he advocated tirelessly and was at least partially successful in defunding a portion of taxpayer funds for Planned Parenthood.

Actual Bible-believing evangelicals didn’t need a panel of wannabe “leaders” who have, in large measure, abandoned biblical faith for Marxist beliefs to tell them who was the more pro-life candidate in the race.

Nevertheless, despite this layer upon layer of abject failure as a group, they issued a letter today chiding Biden and Harris for allowing the elimination of the Hyde Amendment. which had more or less served as a firewall for funds from taxpayers being ear-marked directly for abortion use.

Richard Mouw, President Emeritus of Fuller Seminary; John Huffman, Board Chair Emeritus of Christianity Today; Jerushah Duford, Billy Graham’s granddaughter; Ron Sider, President Emeritus, Evangelicals for Social Action; Brenda Salter McNeil, Reconciler, Professor, Pastor; Richard Fost and others deserve to be nixed from any post in Christian leadership — in church and para-church circles.

Their heresy and apostasy are only multiplied by their sincere unwillingness to admit wrong and reverse course.

They are on the path leading many to Hell, and, sadly, many unborn will die because of their actions before they were ever able to breathe their first breath, not to mention live long enough to know God’s unique purpose for them.

The Christian faith is not woke.

It has no need to strive to be.

Human beings and the Gospel always suffer whenever she attempts to be.

And that must end.

I have always thought this is an oxymoron of Biblical proportions.

I doubt there are many. A handful conflated into a constituency.

There will always be those who foolishly believe they can reform incorrigibles. The late great Limbaugh had it right. “Trust me, you can’t reason with them [liberals], you have to straight away defeat them.”

I do not presume to know for a certainty anyone's spiritual state, but the Lord said, "By their fruit you will know them." Many weak in the faith/weak in the word Christians no doubt pulled the lever for Biden. I do wonder about their being in the Lord. However, there are many who claim to be strong in the Lord who pulled the lever for Joe. I have heard them harangue and condemn Trump supporters. It is they who should be worried about whether or not they are in the Lord.

Exactly. The major denominations and seminaries are very liberal.

“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness!’”

I deeply suspect that I know a man who voted for Biden. He’s a church elder, an incredibly gifted Bible teacher and sits on the board of directors of at least one pro-life organization.

It makes me sick that someone with his intellect can be so easily deceived by Satan.

As the late Charley Reese wrote, “It is an eternal disgrace to willfully surrender ones liberty for a filthy bowl of oatmeal and a promise of security by liars.”

Too many “good people” that I know, hated Trump. These are church-going, mostly hard working people. They didn’t like his China policy (cheap computer parts & Walmart) and they didn’t like his past with women. His brash talk, and bold action was just too much for them.
So, they wrote in someone else or voted for China Joe. My in-laws are now so happy that “competent” people are tuning government again. Makes me sick.
I’m done with all these fools. If you don’t have the sense God gave you, you’re lost to the enemy and I will pray for their souls.

These people aren’t “Christians”...

They’re just like the Communists, who couldn’t beat the USA, so they decided to infiltrate our government and destroy it from within.

I see this in churches all the time. They see how to “play the game” and work their way up, but they secretly despise the REAL Jesus and Christianity..

Charles Feinberg's comments (KJV Bible Commentary) on Laodicea:

"The church at Laodicea (rights of the people) is the church of insipid lukewarmness. It describes the moral condition of the church at the close of the church age. The people demand their rights with democracy and almost anarchy as the rule. (cf. II Tim. 4:3) There is nothing to commend in this church, although it thinks it is perfect. . .

I will spew thee out of my mouth
When believers are raptured. the Laodicean church will remain on earth to endure the Tribulation Period. (17)The church claims it has need of nothing: it is self-satisfied and self-complacent. Boasting of wealth and methods of organization, it fails to realize the absence of spiritual life in its midst. Christ informs them that they are utterly insensitive to their condition."
