Time for Rush Limbaugh's show to look toward the future again

I loved the Rush Limbaugh show. I have been listening to it for years and have always been comforted by his ever-increasing audience.

That's because he was there. Finding a replacement is not going to be easy. In fact, there is no guarantee that it would even survive for very long, if the wrong person becomes his replacement.

Rush simply built talk radio and spawned many excellent talkers in his wake.

I’d love to see EIB close down and open 600 stations to be able to groom and highlight the next generation.

Ken Matthews, Rich Zeoli, Chris Plante, Dom giordano, Larry O’Connor Chris stigall are a few that I like.

Some of these guys might get syndication deals and a few will become nationally prominent.

Snerdley might even become some sort of a kingmaker

He would be a good replacement for Rush.

I cancelled my Rush 24/7 today after having it since the day it was first offered. Other than Mark Steyn, I am seriously underwhelmed by the subs. I also am getting sick of listening to tapes. I heard those quotes the first time they were said. It’s getting creepy and almost like Rush Reverence instead of Rush Revere.

They knew for a year that Rush was sick and not having a replacement in place was foolish. It’s not like he died in an accident or from Covid. They knew this was coming. They are going to lose their market and time slot unless they get it together pretty quickly. Any other business that loses its key person has about 30 days to get it together before the competition sees blood. Radio is no exception.

Just heard on a local Boston (actually New England) talk show that a station that carries Rush will be taking his show instead (12PM-3PM) and that another Rush station will probably be taking it.

It seems that that means that Rush stations might be bailing out...or might be being shoved out.

I assume that 600 stations....3 hours a day,5 days a week is a valuable time slot. But who can hold an audience as well as Rush did?

Listened to Rush for 30+ years since he first showed up in my local radio market. Miss him. But do not want to listen to years of Rush comments from years ago. Need someone else to fill the slot. Ok with Steyn, none of the others have shown promise except maybe Sexton but he has not been on in awhile.

Grace is OK (and she's *damn* cute...I saw her at one of Howie's remote broadcasts) but she's not nearly as good as Sandy was...or as VB was.

Buck Sexton has his own show in NYC...WOR. Don’t know if it’s syndicated or not.

Buck Sexton's radio show is great. Informative and humorous,
but Chris Plante is still tops in my radio personality book.

The best way to honor the legacy of Rush Limbaugh is for Premier Networks to rename the corporation as "The Excellence In Broadcasting Network."

Then, their prominent talk shows show should be retitled as:

• Excellence in Broadcasting Presents Mark Steyn.
• Excellence in Broadcasting Presents Sean Hannity.
• Excellence in Broadcasting Presents Bill Cunningham.
• Excellence in Broadcasting Presents Buck Sexton.
