Washington (CNN)When the Biden administration announced a ban on dozens of Saudis from traveling to the US in response to intelligence that the kingdom's powerful crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, had approved the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi, it was rolling out a plan that had been spiked by the Trump administration and brought back to life once President Joe Biden took office.

Dubbed the "Khashoggi Ban" by the State Department, the measure issued visa restrictions on 76 Saudis and their families. The plan had initially been drafted by the Trump administration, which shelved it over fears of alienating the key Middle Eastern ally. While Biden's team had contemplated the idea during the transition, once they were in office they found that career State Department officers had already worked up the plan...

so, are these the same state dept insiders who bragged post-presidency that they deliberately twarted Trump's avenues of actions? And is there anything Biden hasn't done so far that isn't a plagerism of what he hasn't destroyed of Trump's legacy?

Anyone upset over Khashoggi doesn’t understand that part of the world, and looks at them through a Western lens. Which is ultimately very, very misleading. There are basically no good guys involved. The Saudis got rid of a Muslim Brotherhood operative they saw as a threat, but did it very inartfully.

There was a thread on this recently wherein 10mm gave a brilliant short summary:

“Can someone tell me why I’m supposed to care that a terrorist nation had a terrorist murdered in another terrorist nation?

I’m more concerned with why the Washington Post had a known terrorist on their payroll.”

Also, that “another terrorist nation” is Turkey. Erdogan has done worse to real journalists, and no one in the Biden Administration is saying a thing about that, and Turkey is still in NATO for some reason.

Yes. You are 100% right.
There are no good guys over there. But there are “Our Guys” and “Not Our Guys”.
We should be supporting Our Guys and fight the others. Not trying to appease our sworn enemies for no apparent reason.

In the line of Biden reasoning, one could make a point that Osama bin Laden was a journalist (he published all kind of statements). Then killing him was a terrorist act.
Maybe sanction Obama and Hillary for killing Osama?

I just got an idea why Biden and Obama supports Iran against Saudi.
Let us apply critical race theory to this.
Iran, which actually means Aryan Nation, is fighting Saudi Arabia (Arab, Semite nation).

Obviously Biden and Obama are closet white nationalists and Anti-Semites, so they decided, they must support the Aryans.
Come to think about, this is actually not that absurd idea, specially given the Anti-Semitism of Obama/Biden.
