Joe Manchin Reiterates Opposition to Democrat’s Filibuster Cancelation and Partisan Reconciliation Schemes
Breitbart ^ | 04/08/2021 | Wendell Husebo

Moderate Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) wrote Wednesday he would oppose any attempt of his party to “eliminate or weaken the filibuster” or abuse the scheme of reconciliation.

“The filibuster is a critical tool to protecting that input and our democratic form of government. That is why I have said it before and will say it again to remove any shred of doubt: There is no circumstance in which I will vote to eliminate or weaken the filibuster,” Manchin bluntly stated to the Washington Post.

I am thinking more members of his family need government jobs so he can change his mind again.

I spoke to Republicans yesterday who think that a bipartisan surface transportation bill with no tax hikes will be the only infrastructure bill that passes this year.

Take yer pick:

A. Manchin is holding out for more thinly disguised bribes.
B. Manchin has already been assured that at least one GOPe senator will vote to end the filibuster.
C. Both A and B.

Manchin doing what Manchin does. Opposing until he either gets paid, or gets told by the party to get in line.

Ya, I heard Biden just gave his wife a six figure income job at the Appalachian Regional Commission.

Other relatives need cushy jobs too.

For once, I think I actually (mostly) believe him. It would explain why the Biden administration seems to be bailing on legislative gun control through Congress and is going it alone through executive orders. They know they don’t have the votes.

Sen. Sinema (D-AZ) has also announced her opposition to ending the filibusters which neutralizes the issue so long as traitors like Romney and Murkowski don’t join the Dems.

That our hope is in Sinema is telling of the weirdness of our times.

At least she’s principled enough in this regard. Usually, it’s only Republicans who are principled to conservatives’ detriment.

Anxious to see if Manchin actually has a pair, or what he gets in return for flipping.

Joe Manchin represents a state which voted to re-elect President Trump by 68.6% in 2020. Which is actually a 0.7% increase over 2016.

Trump's BIGGEST increase was in, believe it or not, Utah, by 12.4% . . . despite fake Republican and fake Mormon Romney's personal campaign against him.

I have heard there are at least 4 or 5 other Dems that would not vote to eliminate the filibuster. They don’t want their names out there and hope Manchin takes the heat so they don’t have to come forward. Eliminating the filibuster is a bridge too far and most Dems realize that, especially those from states that voted red last election.

How do they pay for it? Oh wait...Republicans...silly of me to ask that...never mind.
