It will be “jury nullification.” The jurors do not want to become nullified.
Worse than that, it looks to me like the defense is entitled to a directed verdict. I think the evidence is insufficient as a matter of law to support a verdict beyond a reasonable doubt as it is charged. Unless this judge has cajoles of steel, I don’t see him granting such a request.
