Daunte Wright had open warrant for choking, threatening to shoot woman for $820

When Daunte Demetrius Wright was pulled over Sunday by police in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, an expired registration tag and a forbidden air freshener were the least of his problems.

The 20-year-old Wright had an open warrant for a Dec. 1, 2019, attack in which he allegedly tried to rob a female acquaintance by brandishing a handgun and threatening to shoot her, choking her twice and reaching into her bra to grab $820 as she screamed, according to court documents.

Mr. Wright faced being sent to jail for violating the conditions of his release, including a prohibition against firearms possession, which may explain why he resisted officers, jumping back into the vehicle as they tried to handcuff him, as shown on police body-camera video.

I just heard on Court TV from a criminal defense lawyer that Hennepin County, MN had a regulation that if the cops encountered a person with an outstanding warrant the cops were required to hand a paper to the person asking them to sign that they would appear in court at a later date.

Anyone else heard about this 'catch and release' policy?????

No bail catch and release is quite common in blue areas now.

But, but, but ... Daunte regularly attended church, was in the choir, and was saving for college while he wasn’t volunteering to feed the homeless or work at the animal shelter.

“””No bail catch and release is quite common in blue areas now.”””

So you are saying that if there is an arrest warrant the police are not supposed to arrest the person? But only to maybe remind the person that they have an arrest warrant.

If, if you mess up while waiting for trial I’m pretty sure everyone’s arrested. They could be released after that though again though.

As they say: you can beat the rap but not the ride

It is this kind of scumbag that made me really mad. His passing would’ve been blessing to community but instead he ruined veteran police officers life. In laws, does victim’s character impact this officer legal problem?
What a mess

The Dem Cities don’t want Laws enforced. They don’t want Policing.

They want schools named after Criminals.

Kids fail tests, they want testing banned.

Biden’s handlers want no policing, for certain demographics, and they want to move to welfare or government payments so that entire communities don’t work.

Play that out...

Was there a gun in the car where he was shot. Wonder if one was found or picked up between where he was shot and where the car stopped. Wonder if they searched the girlfriend that was in the car with him.

You can’t always tell by the way someone looks.
When I first saw pic of the deceased, Daunte Wright, I was struck by how feminine he looked.
If actress Halle Berry had a younger (Thuggish) brother, he would look like that.

Predators like this should not be allowed out on bail. This country’s overrun with these types.
