Yep, without government money and subsidies, he would be worth only fraction of what he is worth.
Ironic for a guy who takes so much from the government, and yet moves from CA to TX so he can cut down on the taxes he pays.

Not to sound like a jerk, but there’s a difference between government contracts and government subsidies.
Musk knows zip about engineering, mush less aeronautical. He dropped out. He is not qualified to build this. If this Government wants missiles to space capsules, the BSAE, MSAE and PHD in Engineering Mgmt. types are in Hunstville, AL as Von Braun was their inspiration.
