The Senate is working to wrap up an anti-Asian hate crimes bill this week as senators near a deal on changes to the legislation.
The bill, introduced by Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii), will likely come up for a vote as early as Wednesday, a Senate Democratic aide confirmed to The Hill.
"I'm optimistic we can finish our work on the anti-Asian hate crimes bill later this week in the same manner we started it, with an overwhelming bipartisan vote. And let me say it's needed," Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) said from the Senate floor on Monday.

Define ASIAN!!! I’m sick of hearing “Asian.” There are dozens of ethnicities on Asia (A made up boundary). Is an Ethnic Russian “Asian?” Is a Filipino “Asian?” Is Mazzy Hirono, born and raised on Oahu Asian? Is Asian a race? Is Asian a location? If Mazzy Hirono is Asian does this mean Barry Soetero is an Asian African American? It’s another stupid Alinsky twisting of words to mean whatever the marxists want a word to mean. Just like “African American.” Are you an African if you are native born white? Nope. Not in America. You are white. What about an black person who is born and raised on Barbados who has never been to Africa and is not an American? Why yes. You are African American.
