CNN contributor and former US senator Rick Santorum is under fire for “racist” comments that critics said debased Native American culture, prompting calls for his immediate termination.
Santorum, 62, told the conservative Young America’s Foundation on Friday that “there isn’t much Native American culture in American culture,” claiming the United States has been largely unchanged since the country was born out of “Judeo-Christian” values.

Don’t leftists want to claim that America’s culture (which is “racist in its soul”) is entirely European? What if that culture was actually in large part Native American?
He was once my(our) darling. Something happened. Wiped the floor with Casey in debates. I ate it up. Like Georgia could be demographics.
I get the feeling that some people are just waiting to pounce on any conceivable opportunity to “cancel” someone. It’s like the Salem witch trials.
“there isn’t much Native American culture in American culture”
Given the left’s disdain for Western Culture and their worship of anything native american, it is hard to believe they would disagree with this.
I’m shocked to learn that Rick Santorum is affiliated with CNN in any way. My respect for his has fallen a few rungs.
It’s hard to argue with his take. In fact, some leftist would say something very similar, and that it was colonial imperialist crimes against humanity that so much indigenous peoples and their cultures were lost.
The irony of it is that some parts of what do remain in popular culture (such as sport team names) that hearken to indigenous peoples are being erased.
I woould like ol’ Rick to substantiate his claim, with facts.
He tried to be cool like a lot of our hero’s end up. As far as his statement, he’s right but was sloppy.
I’m not seeing anything detrimental in what he said.
So go ahead, you guys, boycott CNN. We already are, so you can help us make them bite the dust, figuratively speaking.
Was he talking about the folks that moved here from central Asia centuries ago?
Santorum calls Trump’s claims of election cheating ‘dangerous’
Eff him!
“there isn’t much Native American culture in American culture”
I guess Rick Santorum doesn’t collect art (paintings, rugs, carvings, etc.) by Native Americans.
As some time in New Mexico can show, this art fetches some pretty handsome prices.
He's right.
And the Washington Redskins, Cleveland Indians, and Land 'O Lakes are doing their best to eradicate what little Native American presence is left anyway. :-P
There’s a museum of Native American art about 2,000 feet WSW of the US Capitol that’s well worth a visit.
Apparently, Santorum was conservative when it was safe and “cool” to be conservative. What a turncoat.
Ethnic cooking tends to be most enduring form of cultural appropriation in the US.
This is the new normal.........................
