Anthony Fauci, the nation's leading infectious diseases expert, early Wednesday shot down recent comments from Joe Rogan after the popular podcast host suggested young, health Americans do not need to be vaccinated against the coronavirus.
Speaking to NBC's "Today," Fauci called Rogan's comments "incorrect."
"You're talking about yourself in a vacuum," Fauci said of the podcast host. "You're worried about yourself getting infected and the likelihood that you're not going to get any symptoms. But you can get infected, and will get infected, if you put yourself at risk.

Fauci insists that even if we are vaccinated, we are at risk of either catching or spreading the virus.
He fails to explain how that is different than NOT being vaccinated.
Rogan is 100% correct. A healthy 20 something year old has no logical reason to get this vaccine now. The unknowns are much bigger on effects of an untested drug over the virus itself. Zero percent chance of death.
Waiting a year or two or never doing it make much more sense.
its too bad this policy wonk has lost all credibility by repeatedly lying and\or moving the goal posts. People are much more likely to believe Joe Rogan than Fauci at this point, even on matters where Fauci should be considered expert.
Fauci has overtly lied to the American people and has made some stupid mistakes.He has yet to be held accountable for his funding of the Wusan lab that bypassed usual procedures. Yet the results of Trump’s Warp Speed vaccine development should not be overlooked or linked to Fauci. This vaccine offers powerful protection to the COVID-19 virus that has killed over 500,000 Americans andsickened and debilitated many more. Thus far it also seems to offer protection against the “variants” that are currently decimating India. Americans are a free people. They have the right to refuse this vaccine if they so choose. Statistically the majority of those who refuse should do well barring a new, more infectious variant. Right now vaccination centers have more vaccine than willing recepients. Hopefully it will not go to waste. If Americans don’t want it ,it should be flown to India before it expires.

Rogan needs to invite Fauci on to set the record straight, then ask him to explain Gain of Function research.
I will take Joe Rogan’s advice over Fauci’s any day.

The vast majority of people have not been and will not be infected.
And further, the vast majority of those infected will not have a fatal experience.
Yes, the truly vulnerable (the data tells us who they are) need to be protected, and they should take what protections they can. But Fauxi is wrong concerning the vast majority of people.
I remember when AIDS was being used to scare people. There were public service ads running constantly that said that ANYONE could get AIDS... but of course, that wasn’t true. People testing positive for HIV, but who were otherwise asymptomatic were being treated with a very dangerous drug... and in the early days, AIDS was being used to try to make Reagan look bad. Looking back, it seems very similar to the sort of things going on today.. Today, we force healthy children to wear masks... but we know that they don’t suffer from COVID... it’s nearly impossible... and certainly children don’t need the vaccine.
