Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, was loudly booed at the Utah Republican party convention – jeered as a “traitor” and a “communist” as he tried to speak.
“Aren’t you embarrassed?” the former 2012 GOP presidential candidate asked the raucous crowd of 2,100 delegates meeting at a convention center in West Valley City, Utah, on Saturday, the Salt Lake City Tribune reported.
Romney was the sole Republican to vote twice to impeach former President Donald Trump – for seeking political dirt on opponents from Ukraine and for inciting the deadly attack at the Capitol on Jan. 6.
“You can boo all you like,” Romney told a restive crowd.
“I’m a man who says what he means, and you know I was not a fan of our last president’s character issues,” he said as delegates tried to shout him down with accusations that he was was a “traitor” and “communist.”
Romney defended himself from the jeers by listing his conservative credentials.
"Oh yeah, you can boo all you like, but I've been a Republican all my life,” he said, “My dad was a governor of Michigan, my dad worked for Republican candidates that he believed in. I worked for Republicans across the country and if you don't recall, I was the Republican nominee for President in 2012," Romney said.
“Yeah, I understand I have a few folks who don't like me terribly much and I -- I'm sorry about that. But I express my mind as I believe is right and I follow my conscience as I believe is right," Romney said— getting both boos and cheers, CNN reported.

If I was to vote to convict you Mitt of two alleged crimes for which you could not be or were not guilty of, I should be the one embarrassed.
And how about this for a conservative credential: Romney broke with the Republicans to impeach the most conservative president since Reagan, not just once but twice, acting as a tool of the socialist left both times.

His dad’s run for President was one of the first attempts to undermine the natural born citizen clause.
Dad was born in Mexico.
I don’t get why people pile on to Pence. He’s been loyal to Trump from the beginning. He still is. But he also swore an oath to uphold the US Constitution. The states run the elections, not the Federal government.
So, THAT'S why he voted to convict on that baseless impeacehments? "Charachter issues"?
No, it's much worse than that. He's not blind, and he knows how unpopular he is within his party's base. He figures that Trump's appeal will fail over time, and then he'll be the party's best hope. Why does he think that? First because he knows the GOPe will do everything possible to make it so, and second because he figures there is really nothing the Trunp-supporting base can do to stop it.

Pence was in the unique position where numerous scholars stated that he had the constitutional power to save the Republic by forcing the corrupt tallies to be examined. He chose to throw it all in the trash can and was doing high five elbow bumps with Nancy. He was tested and he failed. Romney hasn't been tested... he is just a weasel.

Why isn’t he embarrassed? He violated his oath to the Constitution by participating in kangaroo impeachment courts and casting illegal votes there. Even the ethically-challenged Chief Justice Roberts wouldn’t appear at the last one.
I didn’t realize how dumb Romney is until he got elected to the Senate and started acting like a Democrat. When are the people of Utah going to remove this clown?

Romney is always moderate (leaving his options open). This “conservative” is always on the side CNN says 51% agree with.
This is Romney 101: Biden is President and he wants to pass a 1.9 trillion dollar BS spending bill packed with pork. Romney criticized Biden (conservatives are happy), then he attaches even MORE spending but something which is really populist and puts his name on it (so he can also get credit) and supports it 100%! hahahaha

You are right.
The only way we are going to get rid of these RINOs is to prove they can’t win against the Democrat in the general election. In other words, if a RINO gets nominated, let the Democrat win in the general - prove the RINO is a loser.
I know it sounds bad letting the Democrat win - but it’s the only way to get rid of these RINOs - make them proven losers so they won’t get the nominated next time.
Romney is a moot point: he already lost in 2012, so he will never be nominated for POTUS again, regardless of what lies he tells. He is a proven loser. We have to turn all the RINOs into proven losers by making sure they lose to their Democrat opponents. No more propping up RINOs - just because they call themselves Republicans does NOT mean they are better than the Democrat.
By contrast, President Trump won (twice), so as a proven winner he is a shoo in for the nomination in 2024, if he’s at all interested in returning to the DC swamp (which I highly doubt).
